Just a 4 hour break from my After Effects homework for school. I have never successfully used any renders like the ones used here and I think that for only spending 4 hours on this it came out pretty sweet.Renders courtesy of
what exactly did I do? well I created a fog background to replace the fog background that came with the renders, and to add to the parts I did not mask out. Masking alone took about an hour and a half. Oh yeah the renders were black and white at first so all of the colouring is my doing, yes I used gradients, no it was not as simple as just dragging a few gradients and changing the blending modes... In total there were 35+ layers and I think all but 4 of those layers had complex masks, clipping masks, and or adjustment layers. Oh yeah and there is some brushing here and there to emphasize the brightness of some details.
The hardest part though, was the matte job. Yeah and if you believe that, then your comment if any is going to read.... "whoa!, thats cool...." all those litte toys out there...
Anyway hope you like, It's about time I submitted a new one.

Thanks a lot for appriciating the work. It took quite some time to do and you know since finishing that piece I really haven't tried my hand at that style or technique again, don't know wheather it is because I am so busy, or just so afraid I won't be able to match or even get close to the first one....

Im up for anything, I have dabbled in a little bit of everything, 3d rendering, landscapes, space scapes, photomanip, digital painting, fractal... I really enjoy doing the landscape / spacescapes, but am having a creative block. There is so much great artwork out there that its hard to be original

Ok heres what we should do... I am going to sift through some renders that i have accumulated from she submitted these for the use of things such as what we are talking about. after I go through and find a few i will make a package and e mail you a ZIP or give you some link to download the renders.
I will probably try to start something with the renders i find, and then shoot you a psd with the layers intact and let you have your way with it and then pass it back. Sound good?

The second and third packs look cool, and i loke that metalic texture package, awsome stuff. I could help but play around with a few of the models, made a silly little image in my scrap that i spent about 10 minutes on, just to see what would happen [link]

ok i will shoot you a file sometime during the day thursday or thursday night. Do you want it as a psd, layered. Quick question to, are you good at adding 2d elements because if you want a library of high quality overlay material, I will fire that off to you as well, to use now or when ever you want.
