I try to make it as simple as possible. Generally I start with a front view then I copy and flip the image. From there I remove any lines that should not be on the back and make any necessary changes. I'm not that good at explaining it so here is the video I saw that taught me: www.youtube.com/watch?v=apCztM… The whole thing is worth watching, but if you want to see the part where he talks about character turnarounds you can skip to the 39:00 minute mark.
