Description
Greetings various denizens of the omniverse! Here's hoping that the year hasn't kicked you in the pants too hard - and if it has . . . well, I can't blame you. Let's be real here, a lot has happened over the past few years, more than it seems has happened over an entire decade. And that can be really hard to deal with sometimes. Not to knock on wood, but I think at the very least we can all agree and hope that the new year has the potential to be better. And what better way to ring in the new year than with a brand new alien that no-one has ever seen before - including me!
That's right, I have no idea what this alien actually looks like. This is yet another one of 's alien, but with a twist. Unlike me, who seemingly comes with new aliens at the drop of hat in the insane asylum that I call my brain, they have kept a meticulous and detailed list of the over 100 (yes, you heard me right) aliens they have come up with, including whether they have drawn them or not. It just so happens that this alien in particular is one that neither they nor I have physically seen, so who knows what might happen whenever he gets around to drawing it themselves!
Onto the facts!
Name: Sumostrike
Species: Ojikir
Home World: Doyo'heya
Powers/abilities: Sumostrike is capapble of generating and unleashing powerful blasts of pure, kinetic energy from ports in the palms of his hands. These are powerful to tear through most known objects, such as the foundation of an office building, a city bus, and even a river dam.
An Ojikir's containment suit is incredibly durable and is able to withstand devestating conditions that would normally destroy or heavily damage similar technologies, such as falling from the top of Billion's Tower, being hit by an oncoming train, or struck by Crabdozer. Their suits also grant them significant strength, allowing them to throw a Buglizard, taxi cab, and even stop a runaway truck with nothing more than their bare hands.
Sumostrike is able to alter or transfer the kinetic energy of object merely by touching it. This lets him perform impressive feats such as turning lugnuts into projectiles capable of cutting down a tree with a mere flick of his finger or leveling a Mr. Smoothy's location with nothing more than a crowbar. Sumostrike is also able to use this energy in order to enhance his punches and attacks, such as when he was able to send Trumbipulor flying just by poking his belly.
Okikir are able to generate and then pressurize a tremendous amount of kinetic energy that, when released, is capable of virtually leveling anything within its path. With a single step, they can trigger small earthquakes while bringing entire buildings and monuments crumbling down.
Because he energy beings and thus has little concept of temperature, Sumostrike can survive significant temperatures in both the high and low margins.
True Form: Sumostrike is able to exit his suit whenever he wants to, which greatly enhance his capabilities. Outside of his suit, he becomes extremely agile and capapble of reaching speeds of up to 600 mph, making him faster than even XLR8. He is also able to phase through objects, due to being made of nothing more than energy.
Ojikirs are able to massively manipulate their energy at a higher level, drastically increasing their damage output with comparatively little effort.
Sumostrike can survive in the vacuum of space.
Weaknesses: Sumostrike has to maintain movement in some capacity in order to keep generating kinetic energy. Being completely restrained, such as by the gravitional force of a Galilean or the strength of a To'kustar, for long enough would not only render their powers useless, but effectively kill them.
Because of their reliance on mobility, Ojikir are highly susceptible to sticky or restrictive substances, like a Tyrannopede's silk or a Lepidopterran's slime.
While inside his containment suit, Sumostrike is quite slow and can tire quickly. Only outside of his suit can he reach extreme speeds.
Taydenite is the only known substance capable of cutting through an Ojikir's suit, aside from the suit itself.
Sumostrike has a limit to his strength, as he was incapable of hold up a Mutant To'kustar's foot without being crushed.
Etymology: Sumostrike's name is taken from the word "sumo", referring to the Japanese sumo wrestlers that he resembles, and "strike", which means "to hit something fiercely".
Trivia: The species name comes from the 2013 manga Rikijo (りきじょ), which redominately focuses on the real-world sport of Women's Sumo.
The species home world is named after both the dohyō, the circular ring in which sumo wrestler's fight, and the heya, the communal training stables that sumo wrestlers are typically required to live in.
Sumostrike speaks with a slight Japanese accent.
Like Atomix, Rath, and Echo Echo, Sumostrike names his moves, such as "The Stalwart Slam" or "Hot Hand Havoc".
Unlike Prypiatosian-Bs, which only utilize containment suits as a means of imprisonment, Ojikirs are highly reliant on them in order to prevent them accidentally causing collateral damage wherever they go. In this case, the Omnitrix generates a containment suit for both species to perform the same function.
While Sumostrike is faster than XLR8 outside of his suit, it would be possible for a Kineceleran to accelerate to a higher speed before they would eventually start to slow down. By comparison, an Ojikir would be able to maintain its speed indefinitely.
Due to their high reliance on movement, Ojikir ships and more sedentary places of employment have special devices that encourage them to constantly keep moving. Known as Movement Encouragement Pads (M.E.P.s), these modifications bear a resemblance to arcade dance machines and even keep track of an individual's score against fellow crew members or co-workers in the surrounding area.
A villainous Ojikir was responsible for the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake in a scheme where he bullied and tormented technologically less advanced species to satisfy her twisted amusement. The Plumbers falsied the geological reports for the earthquake and would spend the next twenty years capturing her. Due to incresing frustration as a result of her lack of capture, the Plumbers would then manipulate the United States government in order to produce the first atomic bomb and capture the Ojikir, if not finally kill her. Since then, it has been one of the Plumber's greatest shames and an incident that led to many of the accords and regulations they follow to be rewritten. This is largely why, for all his crimes against the universe, Vilgax has managed to continuously ellude lawful execution.
Every year, the Ojikir hold a multi-species tournament where contestants brave and determined enough (not to mention capable of surviving) to take on their champions are able to compete. This largely serves as a means for the Ojikir to blow off their energy reserves without destroying their home world in the process. As a result, they strictly hold these tournaments on asteroids, moons, and planets that are set to be removed, demolished, or otherwise broken down for resources in order to kill two birds with one stone. Many bets are placed on who the winners will be and its often said that entire empires have risen and fallen over the course of the tournament.
Doyo'heya is planet orbitting around a red dwarf star with an atmosphere largely consisting of fluroine, making it toxic for most forms of organic life. This is just as well, as the planet's surface is peppered with impact craters, crumbling mountain ranges, and gigantic sinkholes that make the ground unstable for most species to safely traverse. The Ojikir are well suited for this chaotic environment with their lightning reflexes and tremendous speed, largely because they are the primary cause of it. With the ability to completely devestate their surroundings with little more than a snap of their fingers or misplaced step, Doyo'heya has weathered some heavy battle scars over the millenia; this isn't to say the Ojikir are violent, however. They take great caution to reduce their impact on their environment and invented specialized containment suits to better control and seal away their power so that the native ecosystem can recover. As a result, Ojikir architecture is not only remarkably resilient, but also curves and moves and folds with the natural world, with one often seamlessly melting into the other and making it difficult to distinguish where one begins and the other ends.
