Description My free-styled contribution to the next Wayfinder, being the theme Varisia. I have a varisian half-elf character, so I thought, "sure!" and I went ahead. *butterfrog still hasn´t given us the writting for the pictures, but I hope to get a spot for my varisian boy. (I will still draw what I´m asked to, of course!).

So yeah, this is Erundyl. The kid likes to play with knives. The symbol behind is the symbol of his mother-country, Varisia. Knives are a symbol of his style of life.

Now the mandatory explanation for all the people that are wondering what is Wayfinder and what I am talking about: Wayfinder is a fanzine done by players of the Paizo: Pathfinder roleplaying games. This is not a videogame, but a classic tabletop roleplaying game. Paizo provided new rules to play the classical Dungeons&Dragons, and also a rich world and wonderful settings that have been the delight of many RPG players (like me). I´m very glad to contribute to this great idea.

And the details: Erundyl is my character in the "Rise of the Runelords" game setting.

Great drawing. Check out all my Runelord maps in my gallery (or point your DM in that direction). I've been posting them as I create them.

Will do! we use roll20, so maybe our DM will find them interesting for our campaigns I see your have also done art for Age of Worms, which we played till its very end.

Oh excellent! I'm running Age right now for a different group. Deep into chapter 5. It gets pretty deadly very soon. Did you survive?

Not at all. All characters died during the adventure. I died two times, if I remember it well... maybe three... XD But with some resurrection spells and other resurrection resources in the path, we managed to conclude it anyway.

oh man that sounds deadly! I'm working on Icosiel's tomb right now from Chapter 6. The traps in there are insane.

For our group, we've already lost one character to the Mind Flayer. It was such a good fight though.

Came over from the Pathfinder group. I really love this piece. So very well done. I have a penchant for playing roguish classes in our Pathfinder campaigns. ^_^

Thank you very much! I also love rogues, but after playing Erundyl (the guy in this picture) I believe I will never play such a rogue again, so I am trying different classes lately. Currently a barbarian, heheh.

I'm trying to break out of my comfort zone. Most of my gals are rogues, rangers or monks. My husband has a publishing company for Pathfinder resource books for psionics and has been trying to get me to play one. I've never been one for any type of caster in pen and paper games except for the one druid I have played.

My best friend had an adorably rage filled barbarian halfling. How do you like the class?

CrescentMoon In reply to WhimsyWorks [2013-02-16 17:58:16 +0000 UTC]

As for spellcasting classes, I like them too, specially sponteneous casters, because I never have time in real life to prepare a list of spells for each day XD. I have played a sorceress and an oracle and love them to the bone, too.
As for the barbarian, I think it depends on the kind of player that you are. Barbarians are only good at one thing, but as a compensation they are amazingly good at it. I am playing the superstitiouts barbarian, which is very funny... but also a hard time at ocassions (when raging they cannot be voluntary subjects of any spell, including friendly spells and specially, healing spells! ).

Yes. I drew it traditionally and then colored it with Photoshop.

Fabulous piece; the lines and colours are so professional in nature! The various materials are very realistically rendered (i particularly noticed the ragged sash and textured sword hilt), and the colour schemes and saturation levels are very conducive to the fantastical nature of the artwork. If i had anything to critique, i'd say that the handle of the knife at the top of the page is illuminated more strongly than the rest of the piece, but it doesn't spoil the image at all. Good stuff!
