Okay, so I've been meaning to watch this show a long time ago, but then I was trying very hard not to when I realised how many seasons they recorded while I was debating whether to be or not to be, and ehehehe-- just see how well it worked.
So here I am, in the middle of the sixth season, so please, please, please bear that in mind and try not to post any spoilers. I've already spoiled myself enough (so maybe next time I should think a million times before I read half of the show's wiki).

Thank you very much! I wanted to show that although Dean tries his best to act like it's all fine and he's over it (to prevent others from worrying, but also to keep himself sane), he's obviously not. He's been bent and broken, literally been to hell, and he's constantly forced to choose a "lesser evil". That should burn a hole in one's soul and leave some major scars, though they're certainly not going to be physically visible. I tried to show that a part of him is now cracked, rotten, or maybe just empty, but he's not letting that certain part take over the rest of him.
