the mood of this piece is so good, it doesnt need color. love the use of negative space in the 2nd panel breaks up the black nicely in how it bleeds into what should be solid objects, like the tombstones

I do try to "colorproof" my work- meaning I want to make it as impervious to bad coloring as possible.

I was pretty happy with the color on this one. The best color on my DC work thus far, I think. They print on better paper now as well.

yeah, just meant your inks looks so good here - shame most reader's won't ever know the beauty of your high contrast b/w here. It's almost Frank Miller-esque. Although obviously with a more Shane Glines type stylization here. It's really nice.

I think the high contrast stuff makes images easy to look at. Easier to regonize objects- plus, you gotta use the negative space and blacks to frame the important stuff. The Alex Toth cartooning philosophy. So you don't have to "search" for recognizable forms.
