This was taken early 2016 in Chippewa County, Wisconsin, USA with my Canon Powershot SX520. This is a composite image of the moon being underexposed over the moon and sky being overexposed resulting in showing what was visible at the time though the moon was a bit brighter and the sky being more dramatic. Capturing that and it looking real would be difficult as it was unbelievably gorgeous!

This photo is truly beautiful, especially the zooming in. I love the colour of the moon, and it looks almost like an otherworldly Earth. However, the moon looks slightly unnatural, and the clouds around the moon look the tiniest, most minuscule bit like it was made in MS Paint. I understand if you edited the photo slightly, as a lot of photographers are guilty of this, however, it should be slightly toned down, as the blue is intensified almost so much that it looks like a hole in the sky. However, the photo does still capture the vision of a blue moon, almost like imagining the moon without ever seeing it, as the sun is associated with warmth, and the moon is associated with coldness. The colour of this really captures it.

Actually the clouds are 100% real. The reason it is blue is due to in real life it being blue due to the extremely cold weather and darkish clouds going overhead. I've never seen the moon that color before and it was really strange. It's a tiny bit more blue then it really was but that is due to the moon being brighter. The Hue of the moon was taken from a photo I took that had it slightly underexposed. The clouds are from the overexposed version that had the moon really bright. I totally get what you are saying and really appreciate it.

I would love to talk more but I don't really use my e-mail but we could chat by note here. It's one of my plans for 2017 to start putting a bigger focus on God in my life. I don't read my bible enough or pray enough for my liking. I don't get enough exercise or fruits and veggies either.

I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about Jesus and God. It is so encouraging to see another photographer who glories God with their work. Yous see, I am a young, amateur photographer who loves Jesus. Would you say you have a walk with God? If so, how would you describe it? I would love to message about Jesus and talk about that. If you want to hear my story of how I came to Him, I am glad to tell it.

I wholeheartedly agree with you about what you said about God and Jesus. I would love to talk about Him more with you. You see, I am a young amateur photographer. Rarely do I find someone who glorifies God in their work. It is very encouraging to see someone else doing it. I am constantly growing in my walk with Him. Would you say you have a daily walk with God? If so, what does that look like to you?

How'd you get that blue tint? I read you mentioned clouds and cold air, how did you use the clouds?

The clouds and cold air made the moon that color in person. I just had to take an exposure of the moon in full detail and in underexposed and took the full moon exposed and added the coloring and lighting of the moon from underexposed. Basically merged the two exposures together to match how it was in real life.

So you took 2 photos? Was the underexposed one the one with color, and the exposed one with full detail, or was it the other way around?

The underexposed captured the color to the eyes, and the other captured the detail but not the color to the eyes.

Having a picture like that in your gallery just proves that your a photographer. Unless you just happened to take a good picture lol. But this is a very gorgeous picture indeed! You did a very good job capturing the scene.
