Description

            Moonlight, white moonlight
Tangled in the pine tree outside my window,
I watch you shimmer and shiver.
            Is this life?
Not even the wind can shake you free.
                                                                                                                            JL Stanley   February 2011

Don't worry about it that long. I promise you it's a photograph - my artistic skill with a brush is zero

I love the photo. I especially like how you've captured the light of the moon. Where did you take this picture?

It's on the Catalonian coast, a little south of Girona. It was a beautiful little fishing village that's now a beautiful holiday village

You obviously like the moonscapes a lot.      I take no credit for the effect but I love the way the necessary long exposure

'smooths out' the water giving, in my view, a dreamy romantic feel to the image

who long have you taken pictures?

I had a camera as a kid but only used one as an adult for family photographs. I got a D-SLR about six years ago, joined dA and I'm still here. Have a glance at my first journal, "Beginning again...", to fill in a few gaps

Aww, thank you so much...
...I did try several different places to take images as the moon rose, this was the best I could get but it does fit the poem nicely

I remember how warm it was whilst sitting out at 1.00 a.m. in Spain to take it...   and winter is nearly upon us now in the UK at least...

I was lucky to be able to frame the moon tangled in the branches but yours is equally good. The blueness on the sea is like velvet on both

I see what you mean. They use pine trees a lot either as a feature or to perch a bird. I had thought much the same about a Japanese influence in my rowen berry submission "The fruits were jewels". In neither case was the influence in my mind at the time though

This is beautifully done. I can see it, 5 feet high and hanging in the lounge of an ultra modern house which overlooks the ocean.
Nice words, too.

cricketumpire In reply to firefysh1140 [2017-07-14 16:18:13 +0000 UTC]

It's unfortunate we don't live near the sea, or have an ultra modern house but I understand exactly what you mean
The poem just fitted the fact there was a tree involved so beautifully even though there was never a window involved
