I still can't believe how smooth she looks and how perfectly you got the markings and edges of the markings, you must have a really steady hand!

That is bloody well freaking adorable. I dislike the new MLP toys, for me they do not hold the charm like the OLD ones from my childhood but you have made this one very likeable. Great job!

First off I wanted to apologize about that, I wasn't thinking and immediately regretted doing so, so please feel free to hide any comment from me, and once again I'm awful sorry it was wrong of me.
Anyways just a quick swipe with 100% Acetone will take any factory paint right off! (FYI, it also works for other models like Breyers and Schleich as well, it also helps loosen up glue as well)
As for videos I have found this one gal who is just a wealth of pony custom knowledge! ~okiegurl1981 She has a bunch of videos on youtube that are great www.youtube.com/user/okiegurl1... and trust me her techniques will save BUTT loads of time and frustration!
My advice is don't bother with the needle and thread technique, it will make you want to kill yourself and your pony. Use the rerooting tool! But don't buy one make one, seriously it will save you like 20 bucks if you just make one yourself and then you won't have to use any ones special needles you can just make your own for a fraction of the price. This is the tutorial I used to make my own www.monsterhighdolls.com/forum... Make sure you get an actual X-acto knife!!! I learned that the hard way when I bought a generic knock off brand.
Seriously you can get everything you need to make a custom brushable pony for under 20 US dollars at walmart (including the pony) except for the hair.
I use the same brand of tacky glue as okiegurl but mines the express dry version, in my experience it seems to work just as well it just makes it so you can brush and style the hair much faster.
Now as for where to get the hair, there are a few places out there but I've bought from two places that I can personally vouch for and those are DollyHair.com and www.retrodolls.co.uk/ Now believe it or not retrodoll ships faster even though the hair as to come all the way from Australia than DollyHair who is only two states over So considering the fact that you also live in Australia I would recommend RetroDolls. Both owners are really nice and will answer any question you have about the hair.
Umm most people will tell you that one 38inch Hank will do two ponies, but I personally usually use 3/4 of a Hank per pony but I think thats just because I really like my ponies to have thick long hair.
Another good place for advice from veteran pony makers is the MLP arena www.mlparena.com/
So seriously give it a shot! Even if you try and decide its not your thing, if you already own the paint then its not something thats going to cause you to lose a bunch of money.
Let me know if you have any issues or questions and I would love to see some WIP!

Wow... it might take me two pay checks to afford sixty and will there be any additional shipping? Also do you have an image of the fluttershy model?

I can take it down to $50 if you like. Would that make it easier for you? Yes shipping will be extra but I'm not sure how much that will cost yet. I can find out though. Are you in the US?
And here is the Fluttershy mold: [link] It's the one I used for Tyra here. They're bigger than the normal sized ponies.

I think it's a bit odd that your paypal isn't working, as it's a very reliable system. If you can't afford it now I can add you to a waiting list until you can.

They'e making pantable toys? And the molded hair is good for those, as that has been one of the major things stopping me from making a custom of my character: I don't know anything about re-rooting either. I may have to shell out for one of these if they have it in winged unicorn...
