I know I have an underdeveloped eye, and unfortunately, I don't have time to sit down and draw for 12 hours a day. I wasn't allowed to watch western cartoons until I was about 16, so anime is a primary influence, unfortunately. Believe me, I know I'm not great, and I wish I had been influenced more by western and realism than anime. =/

its not...that anime. ease up on the airbrushing and look to alternate body types and facial structure. caricatures are your best bet for reference. yes, its exaggerated to the point of being unrealistic, but you can subdue that yourself.

Good advice, thank you. Caricatures have expressions in very raw forms, and some of the base principles of realism. I can't seem to get past odd blocks and issues with my eye.
