It's a gag about Jason's hair colour in the comics. They made him have red hair during the Batman&Robin series before the reboot.

technically the ginger is the original, he dyed his hair black so he could be robin, but when they changed his backstory so it wasn't sso similar to Dick's he got black hair.

No he was a BLOND at first! Grant Morrison couldn't even figure that out! He had BLOND- MAYBE STRAWBERRY BLOND AT MOST- CURLY HAIR! I read the original panels! And he died his hair black on his own in those old stories, Bruce had NOTHING to do with it. It was JASON'S choice! AND THAT WAS PRE-CRISIS!

That he had BLACK hair during his time he was autistic! YOU CAN'T DYE HAIR WHEN YOUR AUTISTIC! THE KID COULDN'T EVEN SPEAK! DURING HIS TRAINING HIS HAIR GREW OUT BLACK! HE HAD A BLACK STUBBLE FOR A TIME!
