Backstory: As I’m sure you may have noticed, Celeste is another human who accepted a deal with a demon, becoming a Demon-Borne. But let me tell you, she is not like Crimson, not one bit. On the surface level, she’s the type of hero everyone looks up to and is inspired by, but deep down, we see the inner workings of a true monster. Celeste fell to the temptations of the demon who made the pact completely, making her human nature virtually nonexistent, only caring about her self image. And if anyone knows her true nature, they mysteriously “disappear” overnight. But why is she like this?

Before she encountered her demon, before she was middle aged, before she was a lieutenant, and even before she was known as Celeste, Private Ellie Jenson was a part of a military not too different from those seen in the real world, and was an overall decent person who wanted to do something right with her life. However, while out on a mission, she and the rest of her squad or team was ambushed by an opposing force, most of them dying and with Ellie on the brink of death. Of course, that’s when her demon conveniently appeared, giving her powers beyond imagination and healing the wounds she’s sustained via an excruciating convergence process, and giving her the power to indulge in some much needed payback. What happened after the fact? She returned to the base of operations of her side with wounded in tow, and figured she could genuinely use her newfound powers to help win the war against whoever she was fighting. A real life, honest to God superhero, the kind kids could read in comics and that audiences could watch on the big screen. And that was doing just fine for awhile and to the point she rightfully earned her current rank, but the more she fought, the more she killed, and the more she had to see her brothers and sisters in arms die, she increasingly became numb to it all. Sooner or later, she could hardly tell the difference between who were her allies and who were her enemies. Sooner or later, she started to care much less about life. Sooner or later, she decided that these humans, these things, were beneath her, worse when compared to her in every conceivable way. Worse than dogs, worse than vermin, worse than nothing.

However, in the eyes of the public she was revered as a hero, a miracle that the public couldn’t live without, and she liked that attention. Celeste craved that attention, so she decided to ultimately maintain that heroic persona and not kill anyone she came across, much to her disdain, and instead sign autographs and visit sick kids at hospitals. She was even one of the first individuals to sign up for the Protector Institute so Celeste could continue what she does best. Of course, Locu, Fawnna, and Keatha’s King are keeping a close eye on her because they suspect she’s up to something . . . nefarious, but they aren’t stupid enough to expose her. If they do, she’ll become an unstoppable force without an immovable object to oppose her, and she’ll gladly burn the world bare handed.

Their only trump card would be another Demon-Borne, one that has been trying to prove he wants to do better, but not even he’s strong enough to oppose the false heroine. Not even close.

Strengths: The same general properties that Crimson has, Celeste has as well. That includes regeneration and conjuring weapons, as well as her own unique passive ability that will be revealed at a much later date. It’s a juicy one, trust me.

As her rank of LT would imply, she’s had plenty of experience in the military and she did genuinely earn that rank. So she knows how to fight on how to think on the battlefield.

Celeste has been a Demon-Borne almost longer than Crimson has been alive. She’s had more than enough time to perfect her prowess. As well as being much stronger and faster in a physical sense when compared to Crimson, due to just her simply being a Demon-Borne longer.

She can fly, which makes Crimson mad jealous.

Weaknesses: Celeste’s ego is quite fragile and easily broken, which can cause her to go on a frenzied and reckless tantrum. But all this may do is just make her kill you quicker. Which also might be a mercy, given her sadistic tendencies.

Due to her power and experience, she does tend to drastically underestimate her opponents which could theoretically leave her open to surprises. But to be honest, that hardly matters.

Fun Facts: MY FIRST VILLAIN, LET’S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

When I say “she’ll gladly burn the world bare handed”, that’s not an exaggeration. She could turn the surface of the planet she walks on into glass in a matter of days if people are dumb enough to piss her off to that degree. An Avengers level threat, indeed.

Crimson has connected some sort of bond with Celeste for being a high status Demon-Borne, something he never thought could be real. But Celeste in turn does attempt to whisper her ideals in his head, trying desperately to gaslight him into thinking the same way she does, but she does it in a subtle way where he couldn’t tell what she’s trying to pull. Whether that’ll work or not, only time will tell I suppose . . .

I’m thinking of making it so Celeste was a pilot in her military days, due to the fact the flames protruding from her Graceful Jets are inspired by jet engine flares.

Similar to how I’m a little worried Crimson might be interpreted as a generic edge lord or something by those who see my work, I’m also worried Celeste might be interpreted as a generic psychotic evil doer. Via what little I’m revealing about their respective characters, anyway. I know I’m taking a gamble on both of them and I hope they’re received well, if not, I guess I might need to touch them up a bit.
