So, I've had quite a few people in my time asking how I can possibly interpret love in the Hojo/Lu relationship.
And this song is a godsend - I never have to write a huge paragraph again.
Of course Love the way you lie by Eminem doesn't exactly portray my interpretation of Hojo/Lu - eg, I don't think physical violence was ever a (huge) part of the picture - but the sentiment of destructive love is very nicely captured by these lyrics. And not just that - I do believe the destruction went both ways. Lucrecia was just as crazy in this pairing as Hojo. :>
Will scrap when club-subbed! This is a very untidy sketch indeed, but when a friend showed me this song just now I nearly flipped with happiness and had to do something about it. ^^

I know that in the game it shows her picking Hojo over Vincent, and Vincent says something to the effect of "If she's happy, then I'm fine."
Which means she was actually happy with Hojo at some point.
I always wondered why he became so spiteful to her. Though, I think her end of the stress was her not being able to see her son. And Hojo's was the entire deal with Vincent.

Generally people don't want to sympathise, I think. 
Though, I like to say, Hojo is obviously not a person who spends a lot of energy doing something pointless. And he spent an awful lot of energy torturing Lucrecia. So if you look at it that way, and start wondering why, it's actually quite fascinating.
Ala this song. I'm so happy for it, even though it tells a very unhappy story!

I really do love this song, though. That whole album by Eminem is strong. It's the first time I've ever actually gone out and bought a CD in a long time. Eminem is generally full of rap pitfalls (lots of cussing and talking about bitches and cars), though. Thank you for getting it stuck in my head. XD

Yeah, the ones that are really worth it tend to be a little on the less cars and bitches and more emotionally awesome. My personal faves off the album are You're Never Over and Not Afraid , which ring kinda Stripesish for both of them. :3
