I look into his eyes to see my souland in there…deep within
there is a promise that has eluded me
There is a chance that reminds me of all the things
I covet
I am frightened
maybe
just a little more on the edge
…of terrified…
Because this person
who has seen me as I am
who has ripped his way past the scars
past the barricades of disgust and loneliness
lays a loyalty before me
that only my fairytales portrayed
He wants me
He needs me
and is not willing
even through all my hidden frailties and fears
to allow me
…to let go…
He is a "man"
a word of which
I could not see or understand
He is a man
who will comfort
with the strength of tenderness and reason
who will remove me
from this world of pain and frustration
He is a man
that has found his love buried alive
…within me…
I look into his eyes to see my soul
and realize that he has pulled the moon closer
so that I might witness the smiles of my angels
that have no longer found a need
to cry
