Description
This is the first part of The Mascot animated sequence I’ve been working on.
Except for the thumbnail, it's not rendered in the final quality with full lighting and shadows, but you can still get an idea of the interaction between the characters that will set up the transformation. I still need to smooth out and tweak the animation in a few places in this initial portion, but I’m making progress. The completed sequence will be about three times as long as this preview.

The animations are pretty damn smooth for all of the action going on. How did you get the cheerleader to turn and float above the other woman's hands?

Thanks. There's no secret to it really. I translate her upward, rotate her, and adjust her various body parts based on what effect I think gravity or the force causing the levitation would be having. It might not be as accurate as something like motion capture, but you can do OK once you go through several rounds of tweaking.
