I have a habit to look at the saddening things ;-;
If you think about it the first real sight and the first things you hear in the whole series at all, ("Red Trailer") is Ruby visiting the grave of her dead mother who disappeared in her childhood on a mission. The first words you hear..
~Red like roses fills my dreams,~
~And brings me to the place you rest.~
It also hints at it being the first time to find the grave and just the thought of Ruby being crushed when she found that.. finding Summer Rose, but finding her caring mother dead.. ;-; the feels are evil
And don't even get me started on the words on Summer Rose's grave/altar
"Thus kindly I scatter."
That links back to a poem "The Last Rose of Summer." where the end has a depressing result about a man in a field of dead roses and one rose left. So to not let the rose have to suffer indefintely by being surrounded by the dead the man.Β

Out of pity, he kills the flower with his own hand. With some of the last verses saying he soon might do the same (not sure if that is someone else killing him or suicide)
That poem could branch SO many theories about how Summer truly died, and frankly.. I very much doubt Monty would, with all these focuses, just say she died of Beowolfs or other Grimm... it'll most likely come..., something dark about how she did die. No matter when it comes out i will not want to hear it to not make myself sad at references throughout the series, but want to because i want to know.
