Description
A picture of the feline detective from Blacksad comics, by Canales and Guarnido.The comic is really awesome, specially for the ability of Guarnido to do gesture poses, and animals (after all he is an animator at Disney).
That reminds me I still have to buy 2nd and 3rd vol.

Well, if you're into really good comics with really good art, I must suggest it. The artist/ author is Tracy J. Butler and the website is www.lackadaisycats.com. Start at "Lackadaisy Introduction 1" and read untill it cuts off. It's a great comic with great character design.

Not personally, but I do think that her comic should be seen by as many people as possible so that people can learn how to appreciate good art. I have exchanged messages with her here on deviantART though. She seems to be a nice woman. You can look her up on this website (*tracyjb) if you like.

I recently bought the compilation of the first three volumes in the mail. I've finished reading the first two and I'm already hooked on the series. I can't wait for new issues. A great series and a cool tribute.

You captured the film noir-style of the comic book pretty well and also the ferocity of Blacksad - congrats!
Thanks a lot for this great Blacksad-fanart. I'm a big fan myself and I think the whole series certainly deserves more attention from the dA-community. It's such a wonderful comic book and Blacksad would be a great character for any anthro-artist out there!

Indeed that Blacksad needs a lot more attention, knowing the fact that with only 3 books, it managed to get very famous.

Yep, Blacksad is wonderful - especially for all the details and the great sense for the 50s and its society! I also like all those little hints about John's past. It's nice to explore his biography like that.
Now, I am desperately waiting for vol. 4 which is announced in all the forums on the net and there's also the rumour of an animated movie - and that would be so cool!
