Description I have thing for those animalistic legs she's got. I draw variatons of them every now and then (though this is the most recent). I'm very interrested in the fusion of technology and biology; what is human and what isn't, transhumanist stuff. One thing I like about this leg design is that not only do they portray a technologically enhanced human being, but they also remind of animals in way. I might be going to far here, it's a simple pin-up after all, but maybe this picture in a way of portrays and tries to figure out and challange what is human.

Yeah I know what you're thinking: b00bs.

Hello beautiful! I am a transhumanist as well and, while it may be too early to tell, I think I'm developing a fetish for augmented women. :s Not sure if good or bad thing.

Forced, of course not. However, if they came out with provably safe replacements that were better than natural arms in all ways, I'd be among the first volunteers!ย

Why thank you good sir for that fav and comments and stuffs.
I don't consider myself transhumanist though, but I have an interest in it no doubt. The only bad thing about being into artificially augmented people I think is that currently there are none around... If were gonna discuss if it's good or bad I'd say liking wierd artificial limbs isn't more different then being into tattoos, body modification or stuff like that. As long as people don't feel forced into cutting their own limbs off and replace them with expensive hardware, I think were fine.

Trust me, there's many people wish to develop futurist cyber bodies in animistic resemblance, including me. Nice drawing I must say, especially of her legs.

Why enhance ourselves mechanically and make our appearance look the same, right? Thanks for the kind comment!

Well that's a good question.

Everything we create are anthropocentric, which is matching one of the transhumanism's ethic is to be 'more human than human'. It is not a bad thing if to research whatever beneficial upon humanity, but they seems taking such path too literally and seriously... they had build so many robots and such those tend to be function like human beings, instead of taking several concept of animistic nature that we didn't discover entirely.

One of a reason I believe, is most of the people afraid they're losing humanity when having a different creature of body which is not human-like in appearance, as well as unable to do whatever human could do. Some psychologist even take that way to believe a human want to be an animal when they are no longer desire to live in a human body. Is that really a serious issue that causing human beings afraid such concept to be used for cybernetic prosthesis? I couldn't be so sure.

It all comes down to what is human, or not. Some might argue both body and mind matters, some only that mind matters. And that some people would think cutting of limbs to replace them with artificial ones or even transfer your brain into a new synthetic body is frightening seems very understandable to me. I'd think more than twice given the opportunity to do something like that(provided the new "parts" really are as good as or better than what I already have).

As long as the concept of transhumanism isn't dogmatically defined, there will an endless argument out there. But yes, even you a chance to live in the synthetic body, doesn't mean it would be absolutely better than organic originals, or you'll truly happy with it after a while.

I don't consider myself transhumanist, though I find some transhumanist ideas very interresting. I sure hope it never turns dogmatic, dogmas are the greatest enemies of progress, I like to think.
