Is there any chance this gorgeous girl would be open for rut, probably to mule-deer 's Fox? That is, if they agree as well.

I'm trying to get my first Fawnling, and I know there's only a very little bit of time left, so I apologize for the extremely short notice! I would be more than willing to give your art, slots, etc., and to do the proof myself.

I'm sorry but I no longer own this character.
I also do not appreciate such comments. I don't breed just to breed

First off, such a pretty Fawnling! You did a wonderful job on the anatomy! The head looks a little bit awkward, like it's just stuck on the neck instead of an actual part of the animal. I think that's partly because of the size (just a little too big) and partly because of the lack of shading. The neck should also arch a little bit before it gets to the head. I love the mane, it's so beautiful! The tail looks more like a club instead of the way it's supposed to, it would be better had it been drawn in the same style of mane. Otherwise this is an amazing piece! I really love the simplistic background, it's very nice and doesn't draw attention away from the main subject. Beautiful picture!

I love the coloring of the fawnling. The pose that you drew is great looking. The mane is amazing looking with the wind pushing it around. The tail would look just as amazing if the wind was playing with it too. The other thing that looks awkward is the neck at the head join it looks weird, maybe if the head is turned a little to the front it would have looked a little bit better. I love your simpleness of the background, can not wait to see more of the fawnling.

I really like this. Its very unique, and I love the way its face is made, the shading and the body pose is really cool. Also the name is cool, fits the animal and really the creature gets me wondering about a story! BTW is the tail heavy? I can't tell!

In the future you should so write a background history/story type of thing. I think it would be really interesting to read and also for you to write.

Great piece you should definetly draw more of it

Crissiesaurus In reply to forty-foursunsets [2013-03-15 17:30:56 +0000 UTC]

She is actually a role play character and so I will be drawing and adding pieces of her history/story as I draw them. There will be a miniature history blob when I have the chance to update it. For now there is a timeline

As for the tail, yes it's fairly heavy, if you zoom in you can see more details where I tried (and sort of failed) for a swoopy wind blown effect.

Thank you for the critique.

Maeix2 [2013-03-14 10:47:29 +0000 UTC]

Simple but very effective, showing off all the main parts of the fawnling (the neat lines help create a very nice 'clean' effect) which works well with the slightly more rough ground. The addition of the grey bar in the background also helps in that it breaks up the white space behind which might otherwise have been a bit empty.

The only thing I can think of is the tuft on the tail, which could be made to look more 'hairlike' unless, of course, it's supposed to be that way, I'm no expert on fawnlings.

Crissiesaurus In reply to Maeix2 [2013-03-14 13:59:45 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much for the critique

Ah, I learned the split background trick from the lovely :devbillyboatsgruff: who does it to all her refs.

Yeah ^_^; my hair skills are a total fail work in progress. If you zoom in or download the file you should be able to see the lines/detail in the tail. I tried for an almost swooped back look.

Thanks so much again for the critique, I love it.

Maeix2 In reply to Crissiesaurus [2013-03-15 12:24:21 +0000 UTC]

It's a very good trick. I think I'll need to remember than one

Ah, now I see what you mean. I think, it'd work very well with the swooped back look if there was a defined bit that passed by upwards, breaking the shape.

Overall, nicely done.

This girl is just beautiful, the way you have done her mane tail and feathering is just gorgeous he really just adds to her beauty. Also the lines in this piece just really neat and clean and there are no like loose or rigid ends anywhere. I think it may have ben nice to see her head in more of a 3/4 view but that just my own thoughts! Nothing really to critique, really lovely work Keep it up!

I'm no master on fawnlings but I'll try.

I love how clean the lines are! I can never spend that much time making them neat like that. I also love how soft her expression is. It's a striking pose, in the fact that your eyes are drawn to her face, but it looks soft and feminine. If I had to be really harsh here, I'd say I might have done the tail differently. The mane is so flowy and expersionate, while the tail is just kind of.. there.

But overall, I love the piece, and this fawnling is beautiful c:

thank you for critiquing.

I have a little OCD with my lines so they have to be smooth XD I am really proud of her lines so thank you for that awesome little ego boost

Thank you for mentioning the tail, any suggestions or tutorials that might help me? I had a really hard time with it, especially with the 'swooping' effect i was trying for.

Argentievetri In reply to Crissiesaurus [2013-03-14 23:01:20 +0000 UTC]

I probably need to be OCD with my lines.. hmm.

I have a few up on my other account. Maybe read this one: [link] But I'm not 100% how much that will help you with that tail.
I know these are all for photomanipulation, but maybe check some of the tutorials up in these groups: #equimanipulate /#picturesque-equine /#TheEquineStudio

really nice, thin and clear lines! Greatly done (what programm do you use, btw? :'D)
I like the fine details around her eyes and ears
But, in my eyes, the mane looks a bit too much like there'd be quite a strong wind...so maybe trying to draw the hair more floating and less strait would fit better...

I use sai

And I love that she came across perfectly. She is on a cliff (ze little rocks) and i was aiming for a windy appearance
she uses wind magic so I thought it might be a nice effect.

Ah, I have a computer now so we can better plan some things out ^_^

Elle, as I'm sure you've read, really lacks confidence and is totally submissive. She's headed now on a journey to the Billabong to eat the seeds of the original plant that The Storm King ate from. This is gonna help her over come her fear and mental block to using her magic so when she returns from the trip she will need some training
