Prompt: Just a regular human

Created about 8 years ago, Merlin is a regular, ordinary, human magician who works the Vegas strip.
He went from being a street performer, to landing side gigs in various venues in the area. His goal is to one day be a headliner.
People started calling him "Merlin", because he's never given anyone his real name. That's because he's mute. Some think it's part of a mime act, though Merlin doesn't consider himself a mime- just a magician who happens to have some mime-like tactics due to his lack of voice. Regardless, the name stuck, and so he uses it as his stage name.
Merlin is very good at what he does. He's highly expressive, and people love his feisty yet charming attitude. He's great at working up a crowd, and his magic tricks themselves are no mere parlor tricks. But his life outside of magic is an enigma. Even other performers who've gotten somewhat close to Merlin don't know much about him; not even his name.
