1st round theme we came up with for the 2nd tournament is medieval avengers.so as i was getting sick to my stomach of looking at wolverine over and over again in an "avengers" theme battle, i thought to myself what would i have drawn if i was competing again in this tourny.than i thought quick the dark avengers!i didnt go all out like i would have if i was competing and draw the whole team and some elaborate medieval scenery but am giving ya a lil taste."medieval sentinel".
to those who i have read say they would have like to face me in the tournament, i say......but i thought you wanted to win.

Dont know why, the first thing I thought of when I looked at this was, this cahracter should be played live action by Scott Speedman.

I can definitely see you adding a detailed background (maybe a pile of slain warriors and a castle in ruins) to complete this if you were in battle.
Sentry is an interesting choice, and he would've been a more popular character with your design.
Always appreciate the effort in your great pieces.

Glad you got tempted into throwing something us Cris, ton a bad ass detail here, and a pretty inspired choice of character for sure. I am kind of out of touch with the Sentinel, only had the first few issues of his book because I dig Jae Lee's art.
I'd say you rocked some armor here though.
Kind of sad no one's really thrown down old Hank Pym yet in the contest!!

Epic detail and colours are really amazing as i'm impressed that you have
improved yr style with the tournament,
and Sentry looks awesome in the medieval times,
course i thought at first he was thor when u mentioned the dark avengers.

Love the armor design! Pretty friggin sweet piece. One nit picky thing from me though, either make the axe abit bigger or bring it up some so it doesnt line up so seamlessly with the cape.

am content with it the way it is.i made this in the total of an hr and 20 minutes from sketch to finished colors.if i was actually competing i would have been all anal about it but am good.what i was supposed to do there was push the cape back with the colors but like i said am content.thanx, and thanx for the look and comment.

well he makes a better avenger than wolverine but i understand.looking forward to your entry but why did the ultimates inspire you?take away there ultimate designs, which you have to considering the theme and there basically the basic avengers.

yeah but they both make pretty lousy avengers
the Ultimates were my choice not because of the costumes but because of the team lineup

what i mean is once you put the ultimates in mid-evil armor/designs there not the ultimates no more,there just the avengers.the roster is cap,thor,iron man,hank pym,wasp,hawkeye,quicksilver and the scarlet witch and maybe black panther.i mean unless you plan on throwing in there a black nick fury in some type of moor design thats just going to be the avengers.there will be no way of us telling there the ultimates.dont get me wrong there is nothing wrong with that roster i just founded weird that it would be the ultimates that inspire you knowing you have to change there designs.

my other idea was the young avengers.i keep hoping to see them pop up in this round but doesnt look like it will happen.people are to busy drawing wolverine....

that would have been nice as well, but that run on dark avengers a couple years ago was soooooo good. the writing, characters, and art was close to perfection in a series. it was like 15-16 issues long....and just perfect. prolly my fave series from bendis.

well when you come back make sure you pick up "childrens crusade"its definitely a good read with stunning art.also the big event that is going on right now kicked off with a bang couple weeks ago "fear itself".odin put the beats on thor in the 1st issue..

my wolvie was gonna be a dark version but... there are too many. surprised how many people hit him and hulk. but meh... I prefer doing girls anyways... and thinking on assassins' creed brought a secondary idea on how to work widow based on what she was as a character in avengers.

the funny thing is that i cant even recall one wolverine from the steam-punk x-men....well maybe one or 2 but it definitely wasnt this many.i would never draw wolverine in an avenger challenge....never.say what you want but wolverine is not an avenger.

he is a new avenger. but meh. yeah, there was only one or two wolverines in steam punk, where i lost out cuz steam punk just ain't my thing.
but other avengers do need love. surprised some people actually managed to hit up spidey. that's impressive. and one person even hit up venom.

i would be impressed with the young avengers.wiccan would have been perfect for this challenge.trust me i know wolverine is in the new avengers comic i read every avengers title,and there is alot,but he just doesnt belong.he looks like an adopted child in all the team pics,even hes dialog is out of place on that team.for god sake he is wearing hes xmen uniform on the avengers!
