if you ever get the chance to buy the d200...you're d3000 will be assisting the d200. i started with d60 and this july i bought the d200 and that's the only camera that i'm using now. the d60 is in it's original box since then. imo only the d3s has better colours then the d200. i have tested the d3s, d300, d300s and d200 and the last one was my favorite. except for the wonderfull colours it produces, i also love the iso range. at iso 1600 the granulation is barely visible and you can edit out the grains in post-proc. i think that the d200 has the best price/quality ratio

be carefull on buying one because the d200 is not made anymore. the d300 was supposed to be his replacement so you can't find a brad-new one, only second hand. if you choose a second hand one be sure to check the frame count; the shutter is the only moving part inside a camera so it's the only one that can brake(and it costs very much to replace it). if i remember corectly, the d200 has a shutter guarantee of about 80.000 frames.
