The Kungliga Armén is the military branch of the Scandzan Armed Forces that concerns itself with planetary operations. For a brief period in history, the Kingdom of Scandza was a formidable military superpower that expanded across its region until the death of its most ambitious king. The Kingdom has grown soft since the last century, avoiding many of the major wars that concern the rest of Firupe. Yet recent decades have brought trouble at home with border skirmishes with the increasingly aggressive Ruthennan Empire has raised panic of a potential invasion. Thus her military forces must be strengthened with the royal army receiving a heightened budget along with R&D for new weapon systems for her forces. If the nation of Scandza is to survive these troubled times, then she must prepare for the invertibility of renewed conflict on her doorstep.

Scandzan Linje Musketör are the basic line infantry that make up the backbone of any Scandzan army. They’re drilled and trained for a variety of basic combat formations and basic weaponry such as laser rifles and grenades. Fusiliers are often deployed en masse to hold down vital positions on the battlefield until more mobile units sweep forward. Should they be on the offense, they are thrown en waves at the enemy lines in forward assaults, supported by a myriad of other units and artillery to overwhelm the enemy lines. Though fusiliers are trained to fight in line formations against hostile fauna, the name is mostly indicative as fusiliers utilize basic skirmishing tactics against any conventional foe.

Scandzan Anfall Musketör are a common variant of line infantry equipped and trained to handle close ranged engagements. Sappers are equipped with a myriad of tools to conduct their role properly along with a basic rifle or pistol for self defense. It's often said that every regiment must contain a small detachment of Sappers for it to succeed in a campaign.

In a galaxy of uncertain peace and conflict, the need for local militia forces when the regular army is unavailable is seen as a necessity among the nations of the galaxy. The Scandzan Landstorm represent the irregular units raised from the local populace to defend their homeworlds from threats of invasion and to assist the regular army in repelling these threats. Generally Landstorm forces would make use of locally produced or stocked gear and equipment which creates a situation where every planetary militia regiment the nation utilizes distinctly unique uniforms and occasionally gear and no two are the same.

Scandzan Fordonsbesättning (Vehicle Crews) are responsible for operating the various ground vehicles found within the Scandzan arsenal. Even in an era where armored vehicles have become vulnerable to the basic infantry’s small arms, the versatility of tanks is still recognized. Vehicle crews are typically armed with side arms for self defense though it is not expected for them to survive prolonged combat on either foot or even in their vehicles without support from other units.

Though many Cervolines consider the Urarasnaviasn spirit to be highly dangerous untamed, this exact idea has received renewed interest by a few unorthodox officers who familiarize themselves with the old lore of brutal vikings warriors.
