Description This is a piece I did for as part of a pokeswap for club. It's like a secret santa thing, only with pokemon art. I had fun with it!

Hope you like it, man. I wanted to put all of the pokemon you listed in there, but I just didn't have the time.

I need to stop doing all my art for full screen monitors. Pretty much everybody is switching to widescreen now, aren't they?

Thanks! You are like, the one person to mention it. Yeah the rules were I had to put up to 6 of the pokemon the guy picked out in a painting together, so I chose those 3.

This looks so freakin' sick! I like the detail on this and the style looks incredible. Same with the perspective. Awesome work Cronoan!!!

Thanks! I'll give you a secret on the perspective. I cheat and use photoshop's edit->transform->distort&erspective commands on my sketches to help me keep the proportions correct when I want a kind of perspective. That's one of the reasons I love drawing digitally.

Heh heh, seriously? I didn't know photoshop can even do that. Which photoshop program is it?

Cronoan In reply to SuperStar2012 [2009-10-31 04:56:08 +0000 UTC]

CS2, and you wouldn't believe how much transform really helps when your drawing is almost right but you can't figure out why it's not perfectly the way you imagined.

Ah so you used CS2. I heard the program is really good. So you those are your most important tools for your drawings?

Cronoan In reply to SuperStar2012 [2009-11-01 18:21:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh no, I only use the transform commands when I'm designing a composition. Once I have the placement down, I line it all, then take it into Corel Painter 10 for painting.

SuperStar2012 In reply to Cronoan [2009-11-01 21:37:31 +0000 UTC]

Oh okay. So one more question... do you use Corel Painter for all your artwork?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cronoan In reply to SuperStar2012 [2009-11-01 22:26:50 +0000 UTC]

Sure do! I vastly prefer Painter's paint techniques to those of Photoshop CS2, but I know people who paint great stuff in CS2 just fine. I'm a traditional painter, so I find Corel to be the most realistic paint program.

Okay, keep using Corel for that awesome artwork then!!!

Yeah, my home monitor is wide, but the school computer(aka, the only one I can get onto dA with) is just a regular crapitor. BUT! That doesn't mean that your stuff isn't still amazing, cuz it is. Always and forever.

Cronoan In reply to pancakemanX [2009-10-29 14:06:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!! But I seriously am gonna go widescreen. It's easier for full screen people to crop a widescreen image to their format size than it is to go the other way around.

Isn't that the truth. I wish our crapitors were better, but I wouldn't mind carrying some pics over on my USB if I need to.

Your home pc doesn't have internet?

pancakemanX In reply to Cronoan [2009-10-29 14:42:35 +0000 UTC]

It does, but I can't get onto dA because I have a prying mother who thinks that dA is the same as fA.

Ah. You're old enough to have a job, but not to know right from wrong or make your own decisions on the internet. My parents are the same way. I'm 23, but I still have to check in before I go out anywhere. Parents will be parents.

Precisly. While I really don't mind the fact that they look after me, it gets annoying when it's about stuff they don't understand. Which is why I pretty much only use my compy at home for video games now.

Wow! Impressive! Cool!
If I am allowed to ask ?:
How long did you needed?

This is ma first Pokéswap, did you joined already more than one time?

Cronoan In reply to LanzALIASsilver [2009-10-29 14:09:02 +0000 UTC]

Nope, this was my first as well. I started the linework last week when I got your list, but I had to finish a contest entry for another club first. So I finished the lines and painted everything on the pokeswap in the last 2 days. About 12 hours.

I'm glad you like it. =3
