Pardon me for asking what might be a rude question, but I always wonder when I see your work because it feels so "finished" and complete -- is this the piece you envisioned when you started? Did it come out like you wanted it to, or do you feel you didn't quite get there? Or that you ended up doing better than you expected? 

I'm still a beginner, and it's never quite what I thought it was going to be when I'm done. Wondering if it ever is.

It can go either way. There's some pieces which seem to get better that I had envisioned them once they're finished, but for every one of those there's likely two or three that just don't work out at all. I have a heap of illustrations that just don't make it up cause I'm just not happy with them. They're all learning experiences though
