Cartoon Network Australia ran a pitch competition a few months ago. This didn't get picked up (because I didn't get my arse around to updating it in time), but it did give me a chance to update this concept at least.

For those who haven't seen the Space Noodles concept before here's the general idea:

Space Noodles is a fun sci-fi themed animated comedy Proposed as a 22 episode kids animated series aimed at 8-12 year olds.

The series follows the adventures of Red. Your typical, average blue haired Australian orphan. Until he accidentally hijacks an alien spaceship while out camping with his orphanage one night and finds himself hurtling across space and smashing through the side of a flying alien space city 1,000,403 light years
from earth.

Unfortunately for Red, he crashes into Gurlocks, the acclaimed 43/4 neutron star restaurant. Owner Barkhyde gives Red two options – get minced by the garbage disposal and sucked out into space – Red suggests a third (and slightly less
painful) option and begins working off his debt in the restaurant.

Red is thrust into a crazy alien world, full of outrageous and down right insane adventures. Not only does he have to deal with customers of various species,
ranging from fuzzy friendlies to carnivorous hostiles, Red must explore alien planets for the most exotic of ingredients, and to top it all off, try to fit in at his new school!

Will Red ever pay off his debt? Can he survive Barkhyde
without having his head (literally) chewed off? And will he ever learn the secret ingredient for Gurlocks' signature dish, Spurg Noodles? (It doesn't sound tasty, but that doesn't stop aliens from all around the universe queueing up. Emperor Clint'n of 1432 galaxies can down 13 bowls – how many can you handle?)
