Description
Warning: LONG DESCRIPTION IS LONG.
I didn't know what to do. What do you do when you're stranded on a mere island, surrounded by water, that is no larger than the feet you walk on? The waves were moving faster and faster, slowly flooding the only ground I was walking on. All that remained was a small white pillar that could help me somehow escape. I scrambled up it, in fear that the angry ocean could easily swallow me whole with ease. I thought of my friend, the owl, and what had happened to him. I missed him, I didn't know if he was dead or alive. The waves licked at me, trying to pull me in. I dug my claws into the pillar, and closed my eyes. In hope that the water wouldn't come any higher. I screamed, "Wake up!"
Silence.
I awoke to find I was on that very same island. The same pillar, the same water. But nothing stirred, no sound was made. I could only hear the heavy sound of my breathing. What happened? Where am I? I questioned. Then, I saw a red, grainy rock island next to me. That was not there before, how could it have gotten there? Without even thinking, I jumped for the ledge. The rock face was so angled and steep, I didn't know if I could make it. But I did, and ran up it. Nearly at an 80 degree angle, I scrambled up it. Scared for my life. Soon, I reached a flat edge. I looked down, and saw the small island I had been on seconds before. Nothing was around it. Just water. Where was I? Thoughts buzzing around in my head, I continued up the steep ledge.
Soon enough, I heard talking. It got louder and louder, and soon, and a bustle of teenagers were hanging out at the top of this mountain. Now I was really confused. What were they doing here? One had spotted me, and came down. I backed away, not knowing what they would do. "Here kitty", one cooed at me. I stayed put, stubborn. I attempted to get up to the top of where the others were hanging out, but the cliff edge was much too steep for me to even climb up. So, I slid back down to where that one teenager had attempted to befriend me. I found a comfy spot to lay down. I curled up, and that teenager followed me. He seemed interested in me; but why? Then, he got up, and made chirping noises at me. He was pointing to the top of the cliff, the easy way to get up there. The sun was beating down on me, and there were trees and shade at the top. So I bounded up to where the gang of teens relaxed and talked.
When I got up there, they had a whole fortress to themselves. It was amazing, they had built there own home for themselves. I walked around, the teenager that had led me up here was really the only one to have noticed me. The others just ignored me, caught up in their own ideas.
It was nighttime. All the teens were sleeping, while I was still awake. I was near the nice teenager that had taken care of me, I felt safe around him. I closed my eyes, and fell asleep. When I awoke, it was still nighttime. How long was I asleep? I thought to myself. I poked the teen that had helped me hours before. I poked him again, and he woke up. "How long have I been sleeping?" I asked. Not sure if he would've been astounded that a cat was actually talking to him. "You're finally up, huh kitty? You've been asleep for 1 full day." My feet were glued to the ground. My heart was pounding. 1 full day? How? Why? Eyes wide with fear, I didn't know what was going on. "But in that 1 day, kitty," The teen carried on, "storm clouds have reached our island. They're not going away, and nighttime has never ended." Now I was petrified. What was going on?
Soon enough, the rain started falling. Thunder and lightning struck, shaking the ground beneath me. "What's going on?" I wailed. The teen just looked at me, "I don't know. Follow me." He gestured me to follow him, I did. I ran after him, my heart beating out of my chest. I was scared. I was frightened, what had brought me here? I continued running with the teen. We soon entered a clearing, seemed to be as if the middle of the island. Thunder stilled rolled through the sky. We caught our breath, I was still very scared. A dark aura soon came around us, in the clearing we were standing in. This all felt so familiar, where have I felt this before? And then it hit me; I had slept backwards. Time moved back when I fell asleep on this island. The little island that I was trapped on a day before, was being flooded. A small figure was struggling to get up to the top of that white pillar. "How?" I screamed, "Why?" The teen seemed to be aware of this situation I was in.
The aura showed me a familiar face, who was it? Soon it became clear, it was the Owl! He was there, there he was. I was so happy, maybe things would be okay now. But something was wrong. Very wrong. The Owl just stood there, blanked face. Not moving, only the flapping of his wings. "Owl?" I said, shuddering. Then, out of no where, a huge winged being came at the Owl, claws outstretched, and just ripped through him. Like a hot knife through butter, the Owl was ripped in two. His lifeless body fell to the ground. Blood welled from it. "No! No!" I wailed. I was devastated, what was going on? The teen picked me up, the black aura chased us. The teen was running down a hall, and soon reached a bearded man. "Help her, please. She needs to go back from once she came." I looked at the teenager, my eyes swelling from the tears.
The bearded man nodded, and the teen placed me down. I looked at him, seeing nothing but love and safety inside them. I looked at the bearded man, and he stirred up magic with this staff. He said, "I don't know if this will work. All we have to do is try." He glared at me. "When I make this magic work, you will jump in the portal, and follow where it goes. Once you reached water, close your eyes and think of where you must go. Do not hold your breath." I nodded. I was shaking with immense fear, what if this didn't work? I looked back at the teen, and he kneeled down and patted me on the head. "We will meet again, I promise." Tears flowed out of my eyes. "Okay."
"We don't have a lot of time left, you must leave to ensure your safety!" I nodded, the magic was purple and leading to the swelled ocean. Numbers designed the walls of the magic. "Go!" The bearded man yelled. I looked back once more to the teen who had helped me all this time, and jumped in. The numbers were counting down from 10, as I was getting closer to the water. 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...
Silence.
I awoke with a start, I was on concrete. I was back in my city, my hometown. I didn't know if I should've been happy or sad. I am happy. I walked out of the cover I appeared under, and looked up. Clouds were floating over the sun, the sound of cars and busy streets flowed into my ears. Then, I remembered the Owl. With excitement flowing in me, I shouted; "OWL!" As loud as I could, and within 5 seconds, the Owl came flapping toward me. "Owl!" I cried. The Owl came over to me, and he sat next to me. I hugged him with all my might. I was so happy to see he was alright.
It was dusk. I was sitting alone on a rock ledge, looking out towards the ocean. The wind blew through my fur, I was sad once again. Did that all really happen? Or was it a dream? The Owl flapped and sat next to me. "Why the long face?" I looked at him. "I wonder if he is alright." The Owl smiled. "I'm sure he is, don't worry." I nodded, and looked out to the ocean again. The Owl looked out at the ocean and said,
"Imagination is a very powerful thing, is it not?"

"Have you Ever?" By The Offspring
I AM SORRY THAT IS SO BLOODY LONG.
I had a dream last night, and I needed to write it out! Of course, that was not the real dream I had. I just remixed it.
Please tell me what you like about the art and the story. The writing is a lot better than the picture, that's for sure.
But the dream was so scary, man.
