Description
I got super pumped re-watching RWBY and decided to make a weapon inspired by the show. I named this weapon Break-Blade because of how the blade is segmented and literally breaks apart to make another weapon. I will be uploading another image some time explaining how the blade works, fighting styles, and what the runes mean.Do not re-upload without my permission.

When in doubt, consult TV Tropes.Β The weapon form you are talking about in particular is referred to as a Double Weapon or in this case a double sword.

Long Answer:Β Break-Blade already belongs to my RWBY OC Vladimir Arvid . However feel free to make a derivative or parody of Break-Blade if you want to.Β As long as as your version isn't a straight rip/recolor of Break-Blade I don't mind if you use it as a base for designing your own weapon.Β As the saying goes, "there are many like it, but this one is mine."

I was wondering if you could design a bostaff with blades that can pop out either side becoming a two headed spear. (Preferably su yari style blades) . Then if possible split in two(two swords) then if pssible have them able to mecha shift in to a bladed crossbow.

Hey, sorry for the late reply.Β This last week I have been busy with getting project turned in for Finals so I haven't been on DA much since then.Β ^.^;
If it is all the same to you I would much rather that you didn't use Break-Blade as it is already assigned to one of my OCs.Β However I don't mind if you make your own weapon that is based off of Break-Blade, as long as it isn't a carbon copy.Β I wish you luck with your crossover and I wouldn't mind giving it a read when it is finished.

Wow. Its actually kind of spooky how this sword shares A LOT of similarities with a weapon concept I was thinking of. They key differences being that it would be a pair of gauntlets (like Ember Celica, except they discharged blue/gold (take your pick) fire and/or lightning (no shotgun effect, but they still explode) with blades attached on the sides. The blades would be attached to a small ring on their respective gauntlets that could rotate around the circumference on the gauntlets. (more on that later.)
When they're positioned above the wrists, they can rotated on a screw (i think that's the term for it) like helicopter blades that can be used as a shield or saw duds in half. Or the can function like standard arm blades (Think Gipsy Danger's swords from Pacific Rim) that can also turn in guns that can switch firing modes and shoot fire and lightning.
When they're below, they can be used like hidden blades, but they can also be swung around on whips or chains God of War Style. They swords would also be able to detach into regular swords. Then it basically shares the same transformations as the Break-Blade, except for the pistols.
I know, it's total overkill and OP as hell, but I had to get it out of my head.
Regardless, the Break-Blade looks frikkin' awesome!
P.S: On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being "Jeez!" and 10 being "HOLY CRAP WHAT THE (Insert most powerful swear word you know)" Β How ridiculous was my description? By the way, sorry for the massive amount of words.

As a suggesting if you do come back to this. Have the sword be powered by Vlad's Aura, that's what causes the runes to glow the way they do, and in addition, from the twin blade mode, the weapon can turn into a spinning blade thing (Kinda like this www.shutterstock.com/pic-12478β¦ by splitting the lower half's of the blades of and having the top part move down a little, it would add a bit more variety to his attacks and would look really cool.

I actually have a design similar to your spinning blade link, it still is in the works but it is similar to your link.Β With the addition of guns of course.Β ^.^
As for Break-Blade I'm pretty happy with how I have it set up as of right now, although I do like your idea with the glowing runes.

Unless my translator botched the Norse translation they should be accurate.Β I was going to make a thing explaining Break-Blade further, but I am sporadic with what I do for my artwork so I never got around to it ^.^'

Badass is written all over this although what kinda bugs me is functionality
-when dual pistols since it lacks a slot for mags, but if it is rune based then dust powered maybe?
-also the strap that holds them together when dual blade and dual pistol might hinder the user in some way, dunno if its me though

Yeah Break-Blade uses Dust Rounds.Β I have yet to get around to drawing the fighting styles for Break-Blade, but the user would wrap the strap around their arms and across their back when using the dual wielding modes.Β Additionally one of the fighting styles is to swing the blades above the wielder's head and around theΒ body by the straps giving a large swinging arc...it sounds cool in my head at least...
