"I heard it from the birds. I heard it from the wind. I felt it in the sunlight. And your mom was just crying about it five minutes ago."

Thank you. Gavroche is a truly attractive character who is independent from everything, and oh, such a free individual! Because of that, he can always enjoy the twittering of birds, even though he is very hungry or very tired of running away from police.

I like to draw kids, too. I wonder if people in this community draw something like this.

Yeah, I do not remember exactly but I thought that in the novel Gavroche was described as a child of Paris or some sort. Also I have noticed that in the original novel, I do not remember much description about existance other than human beings, of course this is a story about a group of people who suffered and survived in the waves of history, but as a japanese who grew up with Miyazaki films, I always think there should be some sort of existance other than human, such as wind, trees, birds, cats, and dogs. So I made Gavroche to be in a position of Nausicaa in this picture.

He represents the child of Paris. Also yes, I can't either remember others than humans. It's been a long time in classical litteratur that things others than humans are gone. Exept Maupassant, but it's "fantasy" (fantastique in french, so not really fantasy, but a world like our, where suddently strange things happend). But the Miyazaki's movies...
