It's an RPG maker game made by Mortis Ghost (mortisghost.deviantart.com/ ). The game in it's original language, French, was released in 2008. Around 2011/2012, it was released in English officially. It's a game where the player controls a character called 'The Batter' and your mission is to purify the world you find yourself in, and rid it of the 'spectre's', aka ghosts of the world. The character here is a npc called an 'Elsen'. Basically it's the average citizens of the world. This one is a Burnt Elsen. Not sure the exact significance of why the Elsen's become 'burnt', but I always correlate it with the Elsen's becoming very anxious and experiencing volatile and cannot control their emotions and kind of... start to gush this black ooze. It's a highly interpretive game and it's a pretty cool and unique experience to play the game. It's game play consists of over world puzzles in the world as well as traditional RPG style fights with the various enemies you run into.

Yes ! I've personally watched Markiplier play it before. His commentary is a bit less serious and more relaxed, though, and I don't think I'd suggest it as the first thing you watch of the game since it's a bit less serious at times. From a little digging, Kip Icon on youtube seems to have a more serious play through of the game.

one part specifically is pretty.. hoo boy. But idk that depends on what creeps you out/ if certain violence is disturbing to you.
the last part of the game is mostly the hardest part to figure out, there's a lot of imagery and symbolism to figure out. But there is one part that most fans agree is pretty
shocking to go through or see the first time? You'll definitely know once you get there I think.

the Hugo part kind of shocks everyone and it was just like. awful to personally play that part through ;_; I've taken the judge ending every time since I can't bear to side with the batter haha

That was what I initially thought! There seem to be two different theories most people believe
