Which distro / release is this? I'm assuming you're using gnome2-globalmenu, I have failed to make it work under Ubuntu 11.04. Worked fine in 10.10, compiles and installs fine under 11.04, but if I want to add it to the panel, it crashes... So I gave up.

eOS is Ubuntu 10.10 right? That figures, globalmenu worked fine under 10.10 for me too.

was using elementary OS in this screenshot, i cannot use ubuntu unity to to my ati drivers so i just stuck with elementary for a while
