I really like what you have going on here. For the grey background, what did you use? What type of surface was this done on?
I have a ballpoint pen piece that I am doing on watercolor paper and I am going for that kind of effect you have going on with the grey background.

It's done in markers and fine tip black gel pen on regular cardstock paper, then edited (desaturated) in photoshop. Hope this helps! Thank you!
