Somebody needs to get their alternate personalities under control.

I'd guess he's not so much lecturing Brian as he is projecting his own inner turmoil onto Brian, but I've been wrong before.

DAMN. Harsh Ned is harsh.
Also, the Fater in his rant could be Vater. Because Ned now knows German.

Yes, let's switch out the emotionally abusive asshole with a homeless guy who takes frequent vacations away from reality, that will fix all of Charlie's problems. XD

LOL and he gets out his mannequin leg and starts polishing it every time Aaron comes over with a stern, fatherly glare. XD

...All I can think of is the line "LUCY, I'M HOOOOOOME!" Except I don't know if the mannequin leg would make a better mother or sister.
...
Maybe both?

You're welcome. I hear ya though--been just a wee bit swamped on this end myself, though hopefully there'll be a lull soon so I can make a bit more progress on my fanfics. AWESOME! I'll definitely be looking forward to reading the update!
Lol, same here. Jonathan just can't seem to catch a break with the kidnapping, force-feeding, coddling... really, what has the man done to deserve such depravity? Surely a little chemical torture doesn't warrant this.
Anyway. I have absolutely zero idea of where I am in the series right now, funny enough. For whatever reason I've ended up reading the whole thing out of order, gathering information as I skip between arcs. I've been lovin' it too--besides the fact that it's great writing, the whole thing brings up this warm and fuzzy nostalgia from my old collaborative writing projects. Think my last binge included Aquatic Nocturne and Stay Out of the Alley, which was...well I'd say satisfying, but that'd be lying by understatement. And I hear ya on the OCs--don't generally hate them myself, but do think they're some of the hardest character types/pairings to pull off effectively. Not to mention that the majority are Sues up the wazoo...
And OH LOL. That makes three. Granted I'm a bit of a shipping whore and my vehement support for Al/Squishy is confined to CATverse, but along with you and the previously mentioned Talking Absol it seems this ship is sailing just fine.
That said, I'd be utterly remiss in my duties as a fellow CATfan if I didn't direct you to .

Wow, LAAATE response, sorry about that! I got caught up in CATverse (AGAIN), and now I'm almost done with Arc 7! Woohoo! 8D
Jonathan's very existence demands coddling. Scarecrow: Year One almost killed me it was so sad. :C
Was Stay Out of the Alley the one where he gets horribly beat up and nearly dies? That one was *amazing*, it really proved their abilities with writing to me, not that I needed any more evidence.
Personally, I can never come up with an OC which satisfies me except with humor, which is why in Ask Scarecrow I give "me" a fangirly personality I most definitely wouldn't have if I ever actually met our dear Jonathan Crane.
Oh thank god! That would have been extremely awkward if you just said "you shame the name of the master of Fear with your sinful ship!" or something. I'm so glad I finally have someone to share my tiny ship with, haha. I keep it just to CATverse too, though.
I already know about CATfans, but you have officially passed your duties as a CAT fan!

Also incredibly laaaaaate response. Sorry 'bout that.
I probably need to brush up on CATverse again soon. Have a contest prize request involving the girls, and it's WAY overdue.
Scarecrow: Year One is probably one of my absolute favorite Cranes--I loved that whole story to death. It was very sad of course, but man the art and writing were spectacular. Not to mention Jonny was fantastic.
Think "Stay out of the Alley" was the Rocky Horror story that took the unresolved sexual tension between Al and Spooky up to eleven. Think I know which story you mean on Jonathan's near death experience though. Think it was by Techie if I remember right...seriously, poor guy can't catch a break.
Hear ya with OC challenges though. For me, I just can't allow myself to create an original character if there's a canon character who could accomplish the same thing. Avoiding redundancy and unnecessary repetition is big with me--I'd rather examine neglected characters like Sherry Squires, Becky Albright, Query, Echo, Alice, Gilda, etc. or do alternate ships than shoehorn in a forgettable OC. Think CATverse manages to do something very new and unique, which is why it works IMO. Haha, hear ya on self-inserts though. I'm working (slowly) on a contest prize request involving me, a fellow writer/artist, and the CAT girls working together. I always try to keep things very original flavor, so it's been a challenge.
Haha, no worries. As my above wall of text (sorry if it's TL;DR) suggests I'm pretty much a shipping whore anyhow. Pretty okay with most anything as long as the writer can make it believable.

Forgot the H in the first father in Ned's rant.
