I love pencil work... so I just try to enhance it a little by adding the fuzziness to it...
all I did was add a blurred layer over the drawing itself to get that effect.... I just raised the transparency on the top layer so the original drawing is visible thru the blurred layer....

So the link worked for you... cuz I was worried... lol... how do you post pics into comments... can you use html...?

DCBSupafly In reply to Cruz52D [2007-02-23 01:04:30 +0000 UTC]

I spent forever trying to find this page:
[link]
So I bookmarked it! I don't even know how to get back to it, but it's pretty helpful once you find it!

I doubt you can post an image in the comments, the most common ways of showing references I've seen are posting the pic as a scrap and linking to it, or putting the two together in an img file and posting that (could be as a scrap and in addition to the deviation for example)

I love the lighting of her hair - dark, thick borders and light, thin fills make for an interesting effect! Makes me wonder what it looks like in person! Good job on this.

Jakari In reply to Cruz52D [2007-02-26 00:08:55 +0000 UTC]

Not sure what you used to do it, but I find if you up either the brightness or the opacity that can make it easier to see what you're doing. Either that of use a crazy colour like floro green and then turn it back when you're done.
Unless you just mean you couldn't find straight edges, in which case I think you did a perfectly good job especially on the hair.

Cruz52D In reply to Jakari [2007-02-26 00:17:47 +0000 UTC]

Thanx for the tips... I meant that the pic is really lo res... and really fuzzy... and I had to guess where to put the lines and stuff.. lol.. the hair I just did what I wanted I wasn't really going from the picture... I wanted the hair to look sumwhat like the foto...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jakari In reply to Cruz52D [2007-02-26 17:17:12 +0000 UTC]

Ah I see, that's why the pic is quite small. Sometimes if you blow up the original image by about 400% (especially if its a little web shot) then zoom out so it's the same size as it would have been originally. Then carry on as you would- but it leaves you very clean high res lines on the new layer to with as you wish!
Then once you've finished playing with the line work and whatever else you fancy, you're free to shrink it down to say 3 or 200% (from original size) and whatever you did while it was huge looks neat and tidy too!

(Feels bad for telling you what to do...^_^u Forgive me!)

Believe it or not i thinkyou helped me a lot.. I actually printed it out at wallet size and taped it to my table.. and just squinted really hard at it till i saw what I wanted.. lol... I used windows fax viewer to look at it blown up.. But your way seem more productive... thanx for the tips...
