Description I’ve lost all my ambition, baby
and this dance in hell isn’t so hot.
In fact, it’s cold and damp --
no signs of the fires the priest said
and I don’t even think the devil’s coming.
I’m lonely, so alone, I long for a stranger’s company.
Strangely, I move my two left-feet
bumping into odd things I did not see.
I’m not me when I’m starving.
But, those snickers from the dark, my darling!
Play the music I dance to!
Flat, like my awkward groove
even if it doesn’t sound cool with the singer off tune
I’ll vibe anyway, although it’s on about bad things,
like, somehow it’ll make me brave,
or hide the fact that I’m afraid.
Nothing makes sense to me now these days, in my loneliness
so alone, I long for a stranger’s company.
Yet -- here -- there’s something
and, every now and then, I hear it coming.
