Yeah, but his heart is still floating somewhere inside Terra or something like that. Though yes, he is probably the only character in the KH series that kinda "died". Props to SquareEnix for that.

Well...yes...no...maybe...perhaps...
In the Final Fantasy series he was indeed killed but in the Kingdom Hearts universe he could have just died of old age. If he is even dead at all.
