please help me come up with a title for this...original is 3 times as big as this
i don't want to explain this too much because it will probably take ages and 2 pages on word. so yeah, i hope that you can find all the opposites that i put in there. the main one is past vs. present. oh and a hint: she's blind in the framed picture and you should look at the two people as one.
obviously, for =DarkArtists-Inc 's "Opposites Contest"
doubt that i'll win but the subject was pretty inspirational--enough to make me not study for finals.

and if you're wondering, yes the picture in the frame is the same as the outside (which is symbolic). it's kind of hard to tell.

This is so beautiful! I love the way her dress spills onto the frame and also the misty effect -- and the idea of putting the picture frame in the middle of the woods was pure genius!
This image reminds me of a poem by Emily Dickinson:

If you're still looking for a title, maybe you can find it in the lines of the poem.

Hmm I really like the line "That -- was a former time --" but I guess it all depends on what you prefer. "I held my spirit to the glass" might be a good title as well.
I also just noticed in the image how you stitched together the arms of the two girls in the mirror. That's really interesting, it reminds me of some of the artwork of Frida Kahlo, especially "The Two Fridas".

I think it's a beautiful piece, two little suggestions tho:
1) See if you can enhance the blacks and reds of the dress of the woman looking back at the picture,
2) If you're going for the whole light vs dark effect with the painting, make the dark just a little darker, so as to emphasize the feeling.
Analysis of the story of the picture:
It would appear that the woman on the far right is looking back on her past, reflecting upon all of her good deeds and bad deeds, not so much regretting her choices, but seeing how it was they got her to where she was.

ah, i'll try to enhance some colors in the next few days, thanks for the suggestion!
i don't think that i was really aiming for the dark vs. light effect. visually, it was more of a color vs. black&white effect -- like the heart in the 'lamp' brings color to her world (how love guides, something like that)

nah, you're not seeing things. it's kinda hard to explain... it's like her memories haunting her. before, she was attached to something else, something burdening but now she has learned to let go.
