I like this sketch a lot. You did a good job coloring it. I like how you colored the face. Adding more shaded areas and putting in some highlights would help make it look a bit less flat. Also during coloring the scarf, I can see you added shades along the outline and foldings of the scarf. What you need to do is actually imagine one or more light sources falling on the character, and imagining the way the shadows and light areas will be distributed. It's not that easy but there are a few tips that can help you:

1)Look at A LOT of stock photos (or even other paintings), always try to notice how the light falls on the object. The more you do that, the more it will make sense when your airbrushing.

2)Use closer colors during shading! instead of going for a very dark version of the flat color you used, use a close darker color to it, and shade with it, if you need to darken it you can always paint over it, which would create multiple levels of shadows and would look more realistic.

3)Try cell-shading. Which is the way most anime like Naruto or Bleach are colored. It's fairly easier, and it will also give you a good idea of where you'll want to put your shadows.

I hope this helped

Thanks for the advice on this one I'll try my best to implement more and more, really starting to get the hang of using Photoshop with mouse played around a bit with PTSAI but I know I got a long way to go to make people go wow I'll try the close colour idea because you are right I do go for the extreme shades I'll work on that too #
The cell shading I recently watch a few youtube videos on it and seen a few tutorials will give a crack too

Thanks for popping down you've been a real help
