The stone in the middle of them is like a giant Unown piece...this is amazing. It reminds me of XANA from Code Lyoko too. Amazing!

I've always seen them as inorganic creatures too. I love how these look like they could be sentinels of a sunken city, especially with the Unown writing on them. This is definitely a favorite among your Pokemon redesigns!

At least Starmie doesn't look pissed, like all the other evolved forms... it just looks dispassionate (Clefable is the ONLY non-angry evolved form... MAYBE Dodrio, too, if you think about it).
Also, yeah, when something has a gem/crystal in its center, seldom does it make me think it's organic
