Something about the title of this tells me I've been watching too much Stargate Atlantis lately. I stopped myself at calling it 'Ascension' though.
There isn't much of a story behind this aside from it being another product of my continuing love for clouds and flying things.
Painting is slow as I'm back on my own computer which adores frustrating lowly humans with agonisingly long loading times. However, I am now working with my beautiful new monitor which gives me an incredible amount of space on screen and makes me ever so happy. It's a joy to do art on.

Hi I am a person who has loved your art. it inspires me and I always thought that the dragon art looked so fantastic and real. As a kid I was really stubborn and kept insisting that they are real. now later in life I see your paintings a picture myself just looking at the majestic beast.
Well to the point I would like to know what digital software you use and I really want to enter an art competition where digital art is allowed. I would also like to just make dragons like you that are just so amazing that when put together with a song sometimes make me cry (I know I’m a baby)
Also can you make a tutorial because I’ll probably suck... allot
Also my mum has started an art course and she's doing well she has already presented a great painting.
Please I would like to do the same for her so if it doesn't bother you please help me.

Really nice composition. You don't see the perspective of the wings in a down-beat too often, and you pulled it off really well in this piece.

For some reason, this dragon picture seems to be the exact opposite of the title for me. Instead of ascending and ascending, it feels to me like it's JUST after it's very peak ... and it's starting to fall, turning slightly backwards with its hands (claws?) clasped tightly to the front of its chest so that it is lying almost horizontal with its the wings pushed up by the wind towards the sky. Like a freefall.
Odd isn't it? But that's the kind of impression I got.
Anyways, crazy interpretations aside, I believe I'm new to your art, and I'm loving the color and the detail used in the animal and how the everything other than the most basic of shapes seems to be engulfed by light when the sun is shining directly onto it. The angle of the pose is just perfect and the dragon's expression, even if I can't really see it, gives me an impression of what it's like and tells me what I can't see.
