Just something I have had in mind in the last weeks... it really gets me mad to see all those teenagers that think that taking a pic of their ass/pussy/penis/whatever with a cellphone and submiting it makes it 'artistic nude'.Don't get me wrong, I KNOW there are some wonderful pieces of art in the artistic nude section, I just can't stand blurry, bad quality, cellphone taken photos of genitals!

I agree, quality over quantity, no matter how divine you may think your body looks, the quality has to be on high level to call it art. I personally think every human, clothes or without, is art, but when it comes to photos and online art, it needs to be taken with best possible cautions, lighting and resolution.

I really wanna tell this to the rest of the artistic nudes on dA. I don't give a damn about the photo quality or how 'beautiful' it is. All I can spot in the photo first is tits, ass, and dick. 'Artistic nude' photos can't be on dA, in my opinion. Put it on porn sites or somethin'! Just not here!

ok, since it is a personal preferance as to what is "art" and what is "porn" who are you to say what the difference is to the rest of us? just because you say its porn doesnt mean it has no artistic value. I refuse to belive that YOU and people like you can judge for all of us what does and what doesnt have artistic value. listen, I tend to get a bit passionate with my ranting, and I had just gotten hung up on while in an arguement about a similar topic right before I logged on the other day. once I saw what you had I just started the same arguement, this time with a complete stranger. (sorry!) I was kind of freaking out, trying to figure out what I was going to do when I decided to log on to take my mind off of things, and since I couldnt do it in the profesional world, I guess I chose to vent here (again, sorry!) I dont usualy fly off the handle so easy, or to people at random, just so you know. I was just so angry and it seemed everywhere I looked I was being attacked (bit of a panic attack, I guess) so, again, kinna freaked out there for a sec, sorry to bother you!

I never said that porn does not have artistic value. I'm just saying that it just does not belong to this site in particular. And in no way I am trying to tell others what they should like, it's just an oppinion, I'm not going to punch anyone in the face for having their own oppinions. Stay cool.

Bleedangel: It's so weird that many have drilled into their head that as soon as someone is nude it means it's pornographic. I suppose to you those on naturist beaches are also part of pornography despite arousal actually being a no-no.
I tend to get hung up about etymology and modern interpretation as well for many things. Pornography is really 'that pertaining to writing or illustrations of prostitutes/prostitution'. Now we have to define prostitution...difficult.
For me pornography has to include sexual intercourse to warrant that definition, basically because I'm asexual and I don't find anything sexually implicit or explicit in nudity.
However, Crystallinus, what you say in your comment, I agree with. That (what you describe) to me seems too rushed and thoughtless to be art.
However when it comes to what others may say about barring nudity completely or saying it ALL is pornographic and not artistic I think is far to restrictive to be included on an art site. It isn't as if there aren't filters in place, what is to complaint about for them?

Oh, well, since it's been months I wrote this comment, I have NO ideia of what you're talking about...But once you talked about pornography, I think that art should be treated as such, and then, people who appeals to nudity are weak when not doing a good work... I apreciate a lot of works of nudity, but I don't think you'd understand, because you don't know me...Anyway, I hate nudity beaches, once you said
