Description
Species: Ambsithurism
Homeplanet: Letany
Life-Span: 100-120
Habitat: Flower Forests
Diet: Insectivore/Frugivory/Photosynthesis
Breeding: Sexual Reproduction
Sexual Dimorphism: Gender differences are located in the colour of their petals. Males tend to have warm colours (Red, orange, yellow, e.t.c) while females have cold colours (Green, blue, purple, e.t.c). There are a few rare cases where a female or a male is born with the opposite colours, and a few cases where someone is born with parts of both genders, and have a mix of cold and warm colours.
Babies are born with their colours, and draped in petals. Eventually, most of the petals on their body shed off, only the ones on their head, and the ones that eventually make up their wings stay behind.
Behaviour/Bio: Ambsithurisms live on a bountiful planet, full of plant life everywhere you go, though they mostly live in flower forests, where massive flowers replace trees. They evolved to be sort of protectors of the land, keeping the plant life safe from parasites and pests, mostly insect animals they eat. They base their entire culture around their land, and the need to love and care for it, understanding all that mother nature gives them.
This has led them to be quite extreme when it comes to being eco-friendly, and being loud and proud of their healthy lifestyle. Often quick to share their advice to those who also want to help with their out plant or location. While the Ambsithurisms are wise, peaceful and beautiful beings, they are not pushovers, and will display their power and aggression if something is to mess with them or their land, with a very animalistic fighting style. But if you stay on their good side, they can be gentle giants, and are willing to engage with outsiders, especially to show off trophies or their land.
They share this plant with another sapient race called the Aurideas, bee-like aliens that are very proper, and strive on improvement, having a kingdom like way of life. Depending on where you are, groups of Ambsithurisms and Aurideas are either at war, stand-offish, peaceful but not interact much, or have trading systems going on. History is feel complex with these two races and often debate on the best means of taking care of their plant. Those that get along and make trades with each other, are known to share their trading system with outsiders to make more deals and business, mostly with food, such as fruit and honey.
While they have families and friend group, they live in large communities with one another, in order to do what is best for their homes and forest, living with the idea everyone has to pitch in, and everyone should support one another. If one member is ill, then it’s no a rare sight to see others taking their place in the meantime, and pulling extra work so the other can rest.
Abilities:
Amber Breath - Able to produce their own tree-like resin, Ambsithurisms can spit out an amber substance that is liquid at first, but quickly hardens over a few seconds, often after hitting a target. This is used to trap prey and enemies, or even to pressure something. Depending on the distance, they can even fire amber that hardens mid-air, become a hard solid chunk to hit someone or something. The amber is strong once solid, but can be broken with enough force.
Flight - The wings on their back can be folded back against their bodies, but ready to flare out at any minute and be used for flight. Because of their bendable bodies, they are very agile and flexible in the air, able to flip, twist and jolt with ease. They aren’t amazingly fast in the air, but are able to keep a steady pace.
Plant Physiology - They are entirely a plant based lifeform, with a vine-like body, and flower based head. They have many traits that of a plant, and it benefits them when living in natural environments. And because of their long, twisty build, having no bones allows them to flex their bodies around in unusual manners without pain.
Aroma Aura - Mostly used to calm people, or trick prey, Ambsithurisms are able to produce a sweet-smelling aroma that calms the nerves. This is often used either to calm down stressful situations, or to make prey or foes that have not seen them yet feel safe and relaxed. The Aroma is pollen like and able to be caught, some often collecting it to create strong sleeping tea with.
Fruit Growing - An unusual ability, but the Ambsithurisms are able to eat any fruit given to them, and then be able to replace growing that fruit themselves, often on the ends of their tail. The process is also faster than the normal way, though it does require energy and can’t be used forever. With the fruit that they grow, they are able to, in a way, modify it to now grow in slightly different environments, or produce healthier fruit, or add more flavour to them.
Regeneration - Because of their plant biology, they are able to regenerate at rapid speeds. With their size and other powers, this can make them hard to fight, and keep down.
Self-Plant Growth/Manipulation - They can control their plant body parts in different situations. Often able to unwrap some of the vines on their bodies, doing so to have extra reach and grab, which can come in handy if needing to fight something hanging onto you, or just needing to carry a bunch of things. They can grow them out further too, though its not as far as other plant aliens can do it.
Plant Sensing - While not able to control they, can they still feel the plant life around them, and how it's doing. Whether it’s thriving and healthy, or damaged or even dead. They can use this to detect any problems nearby, and how healthy the wildlife is.
Toxic Petals - While not used for fighting, their colourful petals are highly toxic to eat. It was natural evolved to help keep pests from eating their petals, though it is highly recommended that no one eat them in general.
High-Stamina/Strength/Endurance/Flexibility - Being massive and long creatures, with plant biology, they are quite the heavy hitters, with a lot of endurance to display. They are not easy to take down, and they are not ones to back down without a fight. They are protective, and living out in a wild environment has built up their lifestyle over the years.
Weaknesses: While able to go without it for a decent while, they still will require a lot of water to live, and don’t do well in dry or desert-like environments. Extremely vulnerable around fire and ice. While they are a natural with their body shape, they can get tangled and tricked into it if not paying attention well enough. Their large sizes can interfere when trying to get into smaller locations. With their plant sensing, and how deeply connected they are with nature, it can mentally hurt them if they suddenly feel something awful happening to the life around them, catching them off guard depending on how sudden it is. Unnatural toxins can harm them, along with heavy enough pollution.
