"Lord Demanitus was a man who always came prepared. Inventions after inventions, he would find ways to fix whatever troubles arose. His battles with Zhan Tiri sprouting up his most well-known tools like a weather device or an enchanted spear. Finding many ways to combined magic and science.

That being said, he had many failed projects. And one that many do not know of is the Starshard. If his arch-enemy were to gain the power of the Sundrop and Moonstone, he needed a way to combat it. One plan was to make, in a way, his own celestial stone. Using fragments/essences of both stones that lingered around, combining his knowledge of science and magic, he invented his own with the ability of Anti-Magic. A perfect way to cripple the demon if she were to grow too strong.

But the project failed, as, for whatever reason, the shard would not work for him. It had the magic but yet refused to work. He tried and tried, but nothing came of it. Another failure, so he hid it away with his other projects, along with hiding the notes surrounding the Starshard.

But there were tales and whispers, the very idea that this man made his own powerful stone. Many searched, many looked, but it wasn’t until King Edmund’s era of the Dark Kingdom was it found. Hearing about an item that could prevent the Moonstone’s magic was a grand prospect. Eventually found, members of the Kingdom tried wielding the shard, yet again, not working. Even with the combined forces of the brotherhood, researchers and King Edmund himself. Another failure for the sad kingdom.

When they all went their separate ways, King Edmund entrusted his smartest researcher and Quirin's wife, Ulla, with watching over it. Even if it didn’t work, the energy inside it should be kept in safe hands. She happily took it, still keen to find the answer to it.

For a few more years, still nothing. There were theories as to why. Perhaps it couldn’t be used by humans, maybe it was broken, or, like the Moonstone, it was picky about who used it. It wasn’t until one night did something curious happen.

Ulla had been tinkering before grabbing the Starshard to look over again. Only, this time, it began to glow brightly, a wave of magic flowing off of it. In one, quick and blinding light, it was gone, no longer in the woman’s hands.

A week later, she discovered she was pregnant, and when their little boy was born, he came with a strange streak of coloured hair…”

Been watching some Tangleddddd, can you guess who my favourite character is? He’s a cute little nerdy bean.
Anyway, I saw lots of those theories and AUs about Varian and his piece of hair and decided to join in on that! So here we have Starshard!Varian with the ability of Anti-Magic.
I liked the idea of it because it still somewhat ties into his science side combating magic, and because his hair now sparklessss.

The rules of his abilities are -
He can cast a Anti-Magic spell on himself, preventing almost anything magical from harming him. He can do the same for others, but it requires concentration. That being said, he can sometimes forget to cast it on himself, cause face it, he can be a little bit forgetful or easily distracted.
He can stop/break any projectile spells, E.G a fireball spell or something. He does this by summoning a little star orb and throwing/striking with it.
He can prevent any magical sources from using magic, whether a person or an object. Unfortunately, he has to be focused on them and constantly making sure the Anti-Magic spell is up. He can do it for multiple sources, but that requires more concentration.
If he is knocked out, heavily dazed or too damaged, his spells will immediately break (With some momentary side-effects/weakening on the sources).
Orrrrrr, he can use his own Incantation. Yup, he has his own one, also known as the Nova Incantation. With this, he can prevent any magic usage in a nearby radius. It will drain him (Maybe pass out sometimes), but it doesn’t require his concentration because it comes with a time limit instead. About 10-20 minutes, depending on how strong the magical source is.
He can also just make those star orbs for fun, as they’re really pretty and a great light source! Perfect nightlight for reading in bed.
Can sense nearby magic, able to, in a way, feel what that magic is all about. For instance, magic designed around death or killing always feels sickly and cold to him.
His hair can sparkle.
