Family

  • Eve Horizonfall (Mother/Growing up, Vesper had a lot of respect for her mother, as Eve and her brother Ra were well known anodites, a lot of power backing them up. She wanted nothing more than to be like her mother, though only because it would have made her mother happy. The moment Vesper was found to be sick, her mother was the first to tell everyone to banish her. It stung a lot that her own mother threw her out, and Vesper feels she wasted her life trying to be like someone she shouldn’t have.)

  • Ziv Horizonfall (Father/Well her father wasn’t as well known, Vesper still looked up to him. Though he mostly did what his wife told him too, and seemed to take no issue in throwing out his own daughter, believing her to be a threat to everyone. He was the one that personally took her off of their homeworld, dropping her off in space without saying another word. Vesper now sees her father as a spineless coward.)

  • Morrow Horizonfall (Little Brother/Being her little brother, the pair were very close growing up. He was the only person she felt like she could be herself around, and not pretend to be perfect. When her family kicked her out, she was unaware that her brother was the only one who didn’t want her to go, their parents keeping them separated during that eventful day.)

  • Prima Horizonfall (Aunt/She always felt a little awkward around her aunt, who was rather snobbish and very proud of herself. It wasn’t a hostile dynamic, but it was clear neither knew how to be around each other. Though now with what happened to Vesper, it’s clear her aunt has no qualms over her niece being kicked out.)

  • Ra Horizonfall (Uncle/Like her mother, Vesper looked up to her uncle, and he taught her many things throughout her life. When her condition was brought up, he was the only family member, besides her brother, who seemed hesitant about abandoning her, but didn’t speak up or say anything about it, believing it to be the best that she stays away.)

  • Cerise Horizonfall (Cousin/While it was never outright stated, her and Cerise often felt like they were pressured to compete with each other. Both being the first born on either side, and having to set themselves up as examples. When Vesper fell ill, Cerise became aggressive towards her, seeing Vesper as a threat to her family. She fears that she will drain all their mana eventually, and was fine with leaving her behind.)

  • Skyla Horizonfall (Cousin/Vesper saw her as her baby cousin, small and innocent to the world, and tried her best to protect her. But that also meant it was easy for everyone to scare Skyla into thinking Vesper was a monster, and to go nowhere near her. It still hurts Vesper to think about the fear in her cousin’s eyes from that day.)

Friends

  • Eldrigma - (Ally/Friend?/At first, Vesper was pretty strict on the idea of just being work partners with Eldrigma, since he seemed to be the only person who would help her, and keep her alive, without it harming him. She owed him a debt with her life after all. But as time goes on, their dynamic has become rather complicated. When her illness becomes too much some days, he’s been known to comfort her quietly, and she’s learned personal things about him others has not. But they’re both broken people, who have lost so much, so building a proper connection with each other is still hard to do.)

Enemies

  • Jay Tennyson - (Enemies/In many ways Jay reminds her of her brother and younger cousin. Innocent, forgiving, and trying to always be kind, but that makes her feel bitter at times, mostly due to the reminder. Fighting him just makes her feel uncomfortable, so she would rather avoid him and let Eldrigma deal with him.)

  • Thea Levin - (Enemies/She hates Thea, as not only does she remind her of her cousin, but also the major problem she has seen in the galaxy of people attacking what scares them and they don’t understand. Thea’s black and white view of the world frustrates Vesper to no end, especially since it can be a common problem for anodites. It makes her upset that she and Thea are part of the same race.)

  • Malax Shard - (Enemies/While she can respect that Malax isn’t a bad leader, she thinks she is often too soft on her team, either by not calling out Thea enough, or letting Jay’s big heat get in the way sometimes. She’s very much told Malax that if she doesn’t change things up, Vesper will be happy enough to show her some consequences.)

  • Rook Rilla - (Enemies/Similar to Jay, Vesper finds herself uncomfortable fighting Rilla, thought not for the same reasons. Due to Rilla’s medical studies, she has the best understanding of what Vesper is going through, and truly feels bad for her. But she also understands that there is no cure, nor is it an excuse for what Vesper is doing to people. Though that doesn’t mean Rilla hasn’t said her own words to Vesper about her condition, words that make Vesper feel bad fighting her. She can tell that Rilla is genuine in wanting to help the sick and injured, something Vesper wishes she could have had back home.)

Representing Song: Control - Halsey

Skills: Spell Casting, Mana Control/Absorption, Levitation, Light Magic Biology, Shapeshifting, Multi-Arms, Magical Knowledge, Multilinguist.

Weakness/Flaws/Fears: Vesper suffers from a illness called The Demienillous Disease, noncommunicable/chronic disease that causes the holder to be unable to hold mana/magic within them, slowly leaking it out over time, along with being unable to generate their own source. The disease also affects her mentally and emotionally due to the pain, often making her aggressive, and very depressive. Sometimes the pain can be so much she can barely move for an entire day. She often requires rest and a magical/mana boost, especially to keep herself alive. Anodites are naturally weak against dark magic. She’s rather used to doing things on her own, and often forgets to take care of herself or accept help from Eldrigma.
