The tentative peace the nations had managed to create lasted for one year exactly. Then, everyone got twitchy, their fingers on the trigger. They readied for war, not truly believing the others would keep their promise. Weapons were secretly stockpiled, medicines manufactured, and “storage facilities” that gave off strange energy readings were built. The world was poised for war, breathless…

Then all of Hell broke loose when Alfred F. Jones decided his country needed to make a pre-emptive strike, sending an experimental missile towards Russia.

Ivan Braginski was not pleased.

Secret alliances had been forged during the lull before the storm, binding countries together in their militaristic fate. Just as before, nation after nation had been pulled into The War. Everyone was paranoid, neurotic, believing anyone would slip into their room to slit their throat. America was one of the worst.
