This piece was inspired by "Girl in the Fireplace," one of my favorite Doctor Who episodes, and the lavish palace of Versailles. The Doctor and Reinette were cut out months ago, but then the project stalled. I simply couldn't finish. At last, I stumbled across a gorgeous panorama of the Hall of Mirrors and fell in love. The fancy, fussy gold detailing was right up my alley!
So, as they say in Paris, "Voila!"

This is really gorgeous! It jumped right off the front page at me and I knew exactly what scene it was inspired by immediately, even from the thumbnail. The perspective is really neat, and the movement of his trenchcoat and her dress is amazing. The only (tiny) thing I noticed that seems off is the chandelier - it looks like the chandelier itself is centered, but the piece connecting it to the "ceiling" (it looks like a tassel) is a hair too far to the left. 👍: 0 ⏩: 0
Also, Tennant's hair. OMG.
That's always been one of my favorite episodes, and I absolutely loved Versailles when I visited France a couple of years ago. Beautiful!

Thank you! Many different poses were tried before I got them right. Gesture is very important in my paper art pieces, as I don't like doing faces very much.
