In a college graphics course,I was introduced to Simple Simon,a 1940s brand of muffin mixes and biscuit flour,its mascot was a....well,there's no other way to say it...really,really DEMONIC-looking elf,which I have reproduced visually verbatim here.Yes,that's really what it looked like.NO artistic re-interpretations on my part,I assure you.
"Creepy" doesn't even begin to do it justice,does it?
