Description Thanno, The Guardian

The Beginning

The razor winds of the Great American Desert were relentless as the sand tore and whipped around in the air.   No sane person would be caught in a storm like this, but yet one person walked in this barren wasteland.  Seemingly unphased, the person walked perfectly fine wearing a dark brown cloak covering their body.  The cloak must have been tied down to their body, for the winds would have taken it long ago.  A hood covered the person’s head and casted a shadow over their face.  The only thing that could identify this person as any gender was a short brown beard.
The man traveled on endlessly until he finally arrived at a colossal gate.  The gate had walls of old sandstone that had darkened over time.  Black iron bars made up the main part of the gate which seemed to be made for a giant.  The man stood in front of the gate and waited.  After a few moments the gate shook and began to rise, the gears making a deafening grinding sound.  The man stepped inside of the gate and as he passed it, it slammed shut.
The man stood for a second to let the shaking from the gate stop and then went on.  He entered a large hallway with large pillars and torches on both sides of it.  The hallway seemed to go on forever, but soon the man saw a light at the end.  Pausing before entering the room of light, the man held his hand out in front of him and opened it to reveal a locket, clad with gold and jade gem in the center of it.  Clutching it in his hand he stepped into the room.
His eyes took a second to adjust to the new brightness that the room offered.  After a moment his vision returned to normal.  The room was huge with a dome shape to it and just like the hallway before it, had large pillars all around it.  Around the room were more hallways extending off this grand room.  The man looked to each hallway and above each one was a different sign.  One read , “Market Square”,  While another read, “Homes.” And so on.
Then he looked to the center of the room.  A large group of “people” stood around talking to one another, well some.  One person stood off to the side glaring at the group.  This person wore a white, waist length jacket that had a collar that went up to their nose.  A large leather belt was wrapped around their midriff and white baggy pants were tucked into their pointy brown elf boots.  A large steel gauntlet covered most of his right arm and a saggy, white wizard hat sat on his head.  With both the collar and hat covering his face, all you could see were the big glaring yellow eyes.  The eyes shifted over to the man in the cloak and stared him down.
The man avoided the gaze and turned to another person from the group.  They sat with their legs crossed and their “hands”  on their lap.  This person wore little clothing, so you could tell they were male from his imposing chest and abs.  A white sash was at his waist and a long black kilt made his lower half look like a black triangle.  The only thing odd about this man was his “hands” weren’t hands at all.  They were hairy claws like a wolfman’s and he wore a pelt of a wolf over his head which draped down his back.  The wolf pelt’s head fit perfectly over his head and where the wolf’s eyes were, the man’s eyes peered out of them.  The only part of his head that wasn’t a wolf’s head was his strong jaw that had a five o’clock shadow to it.  The wolf man didn’t move and so the cloak man returned his gaze to the large group.
In the group there were a number of people all talking to one another: a teenager with glasses and a large brown top hat that had a smoke stack coming out from the side of it; a man in a ninja outfit; twins girls with side-swooped hair, one with purple hair and angel wings, and the other with red hair and demon bat wings; a boy with spiky hair and jagged sharp teeth; and finally a little girl who had long red hair, who stood with a giant gorilla behind her.  The man in the cloak began to walk to the group, but was stopped by a shrill voice.
“Would you like a drink, sir?”  The cloaked man looked down to where the voice came from and was greeted by an impish face.  The monster that stood before him was pure black.  It had large, pointed ears with large, blank white eyes.  It’s legs were small and feeble, but it’s arms were large and dragged on the ground.  It waited for the man’s reply.  The man just shook his shrouded head and moved past the monster.
Suddenly the light in the room vanished and everyone was engulfed in darkness.  Two spotlights came on pointing to a balcony ledge in the room.  The cloaked man followed the spotlights’ beams and saw two of the same monsters from before controlling the light.  The man returned his sight to the balcony to see a man with jet black hair pushed back, wearing glasses and a white lab coat now standing on the balcony.
The man with the lab coat threw his arms up and to the side,  “WELCOME!  To The Lost City.”  The man looked down at the group of people and went on, “My name, is Dr.Richard Head and you’ve all come here to prove yourselves.  To fight for a chance to get anything your heart desires!  This is the battle royal of the 2999!  The rules are simple, you will go into a different hallway and enter the city.  When and if, you run into someone, you will fight each other.  And whoever wins gets to move on, and whoever loses...dies.  Simple as that.”
Some people in the room felt a little uneasy about that last statement.   “Now then, let the games begin.  Everyone pick a hallway and enter the city.  And remember, the winner gets one thing that their heart desires.  Buh-bye.”  Richard turned around and waved good-bye to everyone.
No one said anything to anyone.  They all just went to their own hallway and entered it.  The cloaked man took the hallway that said, “Warehouses.”  Just like the hallway before it was dimly lit and at the end was a bright light.  The man stepped into the light and was greeted by a dirt road and rows of large stone warehouses on each side.  The man walked into the middle of the road.  It was peaceful out with the sun high in the sky and no wind.  With one swift movement he removed his cloak and threw it behind him to reveal brown leather boots, tan leather pants with a black belt,  a white button up shirt with the top two buttons undone, and a sleeveless, open dark brown trench coat.  The man’s long brown hair fell to his shoulders.  His eyes wide open, one pure black and the other pure white.  This is Thanno and he is going to win this game, no matter what.
