I have mostly been working and very recently (in July) mourned the passing of a loved family member who passed away from complications of MND so drawing for me has been few and far between but still remains my means of escape. I have been quiet on DA but never fear, I am still about. Just need a big enough scanner to copy my latest artworks. Have missed you heaps and look forward to seeing more of your creations.

Aww, I missed you, too! I'm sorry for your loss and I certainly understand when the muse has left for whatever reason.
I can relate when creativity gets curtailed because of a lack of good equipment! With me, it was the lack of digital equipment. (Tablet and image software.)
And more creations you will see, my dear Chiptte! I have a lot on my plate!

"Vinny's Visit" was the inspiration for my series, but the fact that I saw so many things in their lives that they suffered from and had commonality and personal connection with, made me ship them from the beginning.
It's as much a journey for Dave and Vinny as couple, as it is for her to acclimate herself in her new city life, and such ups and downs make for good storytelling.

Yes, the isolated trapper, Grizzly Sam didn't know that that species of chipmunk was sentient, when he caught Alvin, and although Grandpa and Grandma Seville were *initially* confused as to what chipmunks, specifically Chipmunks, ate and how they lived, when the boys went to visit them on their farm, they since understood that Chipmunks were so close to Human as to *be* Human.
But, the majority of Humans were not confused as to whom they dealt with, species-wise. Case in point: Harry has had dealings with adult Humans before, if not all of his life. He normally works with and cons them (he worked in a circus and was in debt to a Human strongman named Luke-"Uncle Harry"), he's called on Human news reporters ("Santa Harry"), and he's worked as a janitor/assistant producer for one (Mr. Buckner, the producer of Superstar Productions, a run-down movie studio-"Lights, Camera, Alvin!")
Not to mention all of the other Humans (school staff, parents of school friends and dates, studio co-workers and staff, worldwide fans, and people, in general) that The Chipmunks and The Chipettes interact with on a daily basis.
Plus, due to the historical interactions of both species over the millennia, modern day law, canonically, gives Chipmunks the same protections under the law as Humans. They are not considered chattel or simple animals, but citizens.

They should have done that after the "C. goes to the movies". Just break out every sitcom trope you can fit in 70 episodes. Boss comes to dinner. Child Services sends the C's to the pound. Brittany breaks her nose. Alvin fails Xth grade. Theodore is buried alive and Cookie Chomper III has to save him. Alvin has a house party while the parents are away and thinks he has destroyed the house, but Theo and Simon have secretly saved him- but not told him because nobody likes housewrecker parties. The secret of Jeanette, or Theodore, or Miss Miller. Uncle Harry shows up to make every better but takes everything not nailed down, then surprize he really made everything better. Jeanette and Simon vs the haunted tiki idol, complete with sacrificing Brittany to a volcano of pineapple sauce. The C are broke. The C are rich. The C are famous, unknown, infamous, and Clyde Crashcup makes it a choose which one you want, they're all true at different times. It's Family Ties, Brady Bunch, and Partridge Family.
