Did Cubie really get off her lazy butt and finally draw that thing she's been promising for months? IS THE WORLD COMING TO A HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE END?!
Yes! Er... no. Wait- what?
Anyways, I've owed a picture to Jono for a long time now, and I finally finished it today! ^^ Yay!
I'm sorry if I missed some parts of the description/drew it entirely wrong. xD I guess I'm not very good at drawing according to description. n_n;
The head's probably way wrong, but I had a lot of fun doing it. :3 I'm trying to practice with anatomy-ness. xD
And, I mean, for being a total n00b at claws, I think I did a pretty good job with them. ^^'
Also, it's more... grey... than black... /: Sorry about that.
But dude, I'm really psyched about this pic. xD I really love drawing like this. I hope you like it!

Hmm, critique... I'd say the biggest thing is that you should have a defined light source instead of the standard dark on the edges with lightness in the middle :3 That way the shoulder joints wouldn't look like they're sticking out slightly awkwardly from the body like simple 3D rendering, and the head wouldn't seem a bit far forward in relation to the necks angle, but it would all flow smoothly~
But I like the clouds, and the muscles and detailing. Very kewl dragon, I always like teh Cubes' lineless drawings

Usually I just draw characters without a scene, so it's become a habit not to really use them. ee;

No I understand ^^ I just recently decided that I need to start doing light sources myself
If it's ever hard to do, just try to imagine before you start shading where you want the light to be coming from, then sort of lighten the areas that would be hitting it directly, while making the areas that it isn't facing dark :3 And keep in mind each individual shape and how it responds to light, but also trying to keep the entire piece uniform by using shadows of the separate pieces on each other so it doesn't look bubbly and broken apart x.x
If for some reason you don't do this yet, it helps to just do simple shading of darkness and lightness and then blur it all together, since its a real bummer to make it look nice and smooth only to realize that the light should be hitting it from a different angle x3;

Gwah! *oggles* That is so cool! I'm TERRIBLE at doing dragons from the front! And the horns make an excellent contrast ot everything, too.

For the colouring, I put down a solid base colour, and then sort of "paint" over top of it with a kind of transparent darker shade. Then if they need it I smudge them together until it looks good. xD And I use lots and lots of layers, as always. xP
